If you have learned how to knit, but struggle to fix your own mistakes, or if any of the photos from the graphic for this workshop stress you out, then this class is for you! We will work on a basic knitted swatch, while focusing on how to recognize common mistakes in your work, and learning how to effectively fix them without ripping out everything you have knit!

Please bring with you:

Worsted weight yarn in 2 colours
Knitting needles to match
A darning needle
A crochet hook
Any projects that need help or attention!

Let's get knitting! This beginner workshop is designed for the absolute beginner- you know; the person who has never even held a knitting needle, or that knit once when their grandma taught them when they were 7. Our learn to knit experience will give you the basic skills of knitting, while focusing on fixing any mistakes you might encounter, and building confidence in your craft. Don’t worry- I’ll hold your hand (figuratively) the whole way and offer additional support outside of class time!

Show up with just yourself (maybe a friend?) and a positive attitude- feel free to bring a beverage or snacks if you like!

There’s a new TWEED in town, and she has stolen our hearts!

Cotton Tweed by LANGYARNS is my new favourite yarn, and I just keep dreaming of everything I can take with it! This DK weight yarn is a blend of Cotton and Silk, and boasts 130m/50gm ball, making it the perfect all season yarn for garments & accessories.

You won’t believe how incredibly soft this yarn is, and how gorgeous it is to work with! It slides off your needles like butter, and your garment will hold its shape beautifully, while providing a light drape. Cotton Tweed is perfect for adult, and kids projects as it can easily be machine washed. Find it in store, and on our website!

THANK YOU BARRIE!!

We had the BEST time Fibre Spirit Festival yesterday- it felt so good to finally be able to be back at this show and hang out with all our fibre friends! The organizing team is out of this world incredible, and every detail is executed meticulously, which made for a fantastic show!

You guys showed up and kept us busy the entire day! Our new yarn bases were gobbled up quickly, and we have lots of dyeing to do to replenish our stock before K-W Knitters' Guild in just two weeks!

Thank you so much to my wonderful friend Jeremy (Jem) Adkins for spending your Saturday working with me at the booth, and promoting your beautiful hand dyed yarns! And thank you for being so considerate with sharing your tallness with me 🙃

For the first time in many years, Stix will be BACK Fibre Spirit Festival festival THIS SATURDAY!

We have had to miss this festival for the past few years, due to North Bay’s “Bay Block Party” always falling on the same weekend- but the change of dates worked well for us this year and we are BACK BABY!

We will be debuting our brand new yarn bases, gorgeous new colours and beautiful kits for the upcoming fall season!

Barrie, we are so excited to be back! See you Saturday!
