🎭🎤 STAGE CALL: CALLING ALL PERFORMERS, ARTISTS, MUSICIANS, & CREATORS! 🎤🎭

Nipissing ARTS & Culture is looking for performers and creators to join us for the launch of the One North Festival at the Kiwanis Bandshell on June 27, 2026! 🌟

Supported by Celebrate Canada, the City of North Bay, and our local leadership, this festival is celebrating National Multiculturalism Day. Our theme is One Community, Many Cultures, One North, and we want the day to be buzzing with your energy and creativity!

✨ Who Are We Looking For?
We want to showcase a beautiful mix of everything our community has to offer! We are looking for:

🎵 Musicians, Singers, & Bands: Bring us your acoustic sets, full bands, and cultural music.

💃 Dancers & Troupes: Traditional cultural dances, modern choreography, hip-hop, or anything that gets the crowd moving!

🎧 DJs: Keep the festival vibes high and the energy flowing.

🎩 Buskers, Magicians, & Theater Artists: Bring the park to life with pop-up acts, crowd interaction, and street magic!

🎤 Comedians & Storytellers: Share light hearted, funny, or moving stories on the mic.

🎨 Visual Artists: Show off your skills with live painting, crafting, or interactive art demos.

Whether your style is traditional, modern, family-friendly, or a completely unique cross-cultural fusion, we want YOU!

Calling all artists! The City of North Bay and the Public Art Advisory Committee (PAAC) are inviting local and regional artists to submit designs for a large-scale mural at the new North Bay Community and Recreation Centre.

The selected artist will receive a $3,500 artist fee and bring their vision to life by painting the mural directly onto a feature wall inside the facility.

We’re looking for artwork that reflects the spirit of North Bay through culture, sports, recreation, outdoor life, movement, teamwork, and community pride.

Submission deadline is Friday, June 26, 2026.

Paddle Project INCOMING!

Not only is this Friday, March 20, the first Downtown Gallery Hop of 2026, it’s also the night WWG gives you a special sneak peek of the artist-created paddles made especially for our big fundraising gala, The Paddle Project 2026!

100 artists are helping us to raise funds for the gallery by turning their creative talents to transforming 100 full-size canoe paddles into 100 full-on works of art. Check them out at the gallery space at 159 Main St E.

Casting Call for Season 2 of North of North!

We’re excited to share that casting is now open for the award-winning series North of North! SG Casting are looking for Inuit actors of all ages, from teens to elders. They aren’t currently casting anyone under 15, but Inuit youth younger than that are welcome to apply for future opportunities.

No acting experience required! An outgoing personality is a bonus.

If you live in either Toronto or Nunavut and cannot travel, let them know so they can try to match you with roles shooting locally. If travel is needed, production will arrange and cover costs.

The Capitol Centre, with the financial support of NOHFC, is offering a one year Content Creator Intern Contract to support community engagement initiatives within the WKP Kennedy Gallery and the Betty Speers Theatre. This position will work closely with the Gallery Director / Curator and the Marketing Department. This role provides hands-on experience in content creation, social marketing strategies, artist engagement and exhibition documentation.

I have to hand it to the The City of North Bay for the plethora of public art this year! We'll enjoy it for years to come. I would bet that some of these artists did not foresee their art being selected and compensated, so I encourage all creatives to submit a piece at the next all-call.
