Thank you, Karen and the SAIL community, for coming out to learn about decluttering and downsizing. What a great afternoon—so many familiar faces and some wonderful new ones too!

We covered so much, whether you’re decluttering for yourself or helping a loved one. We talked about:
Understanding what kind of clutter you accumulate,
How to approach downsizing,
Setting up systems that will help you stay organized in the future

We even touched on everything from closets to “the hard stuff”—especially sentimental items. And as this topic truly affects people from ages 5 to 95.

Can a Kitchen be SEXYYYYYYYY? Yes it can!!!

Sometimes a "small fix" turns into a complete, jaw-dropping transformation!

What started as replacing just 4 damaged cabinets—after a previous gas stove installation left them without proper clearances—quickly turned into a full kitchen redesign for this new homeowner.

Once we sat down to talk through her wants and needs, it was clear the original layout just wasn't cutting it. This client loves to entertain, considers high-level organization a non-negotiable, and truly views the kitchen as the heart of the home. We couldn't leave out the youngest member of the family, either! To keep everyone from tripping over pet bowls during party prep, we built a dedicated "Winston Station" just for her furbaby.

When you’re working with an open-concept layout, planning a multifunctional space requires absolute intention. Every zone needs to serve a purpose without creating chaos. Adjacent to the kitchen, the living room fireplace was awkwardly off-center. We solved the balance issue by adding rich wood slats to anchor the fireplace and integrated a custom bar area. Now, guests can seamlessly walk in, mix a drink, and grab a seat at the island that is one height—staying comfortably entertained without crowding the cook while she serves up an amazing feast! 🍷

Once the function was dialed in, it was time for the finishes. The pairing of rich walnut and bold black makes this space an absolute showstopper. Black provides grounding structure and modern drama, while the natural warmth and grain of walnut soften the contrast, keeping the room from feeling cold. Together, they create a atmosphere that’s dramatic, refined, and divine.
(Design Note: Photography brightens things up a bit—the walnut tone in person is even deeper and richer than it appears in these shots!)

We’ve worked with this homeowner before, so we knew the bar was set high. She’s insanely organized, immensely talented at decorating, and brilliant with arts and crafts. This space had to measure up to her creative mind! After spending a collaborative afternoon with her and Lisa at Creative Kitchens, we took a completely dysfunctional footprint and turned it into a masterpiece.

I can’t thank this amazing client—and friend—enough for trusting us once again to bring her vision to life. 🖤✨
