A quiet landscape emerging through layers of earth tones and soft light.
The composition explores the meeting point between horizon, memory, and atmosphere.
Subtle textures of raw canvas allow the paint to breathe, creating a calm and contemplative presence within the space.

This work is an experiment in pigment absorbency and flow on unprimed canvas.
At maximum absorbency, the pigment reacts with the surface under minimal intervention and limited control.
The image emerges from the interaction between material behavior and restraint.

My name is Daria.
I am an architect-designer and contemporary artist.

Working with space,
I gradually came to painting
as its continuation.

My paintings do not emerge
separately from the interior,
but as another form of working
with the same principles —
material, surface,
balance and tension,
nuances and states of the image.

It is important to me
not to fully control the material
and not to let it go entirely.

I explore the moment
when control weakens
and the material begins to respond —
not as an effect,
but as an active participant in the process.

These works are the result of observation,
not an attempt to prove anything.

It is about balance —
never stable,
and each time revealing itself differently.

Abstract painting often appears simple.
As if color alone were enough.

In reality, the hardest part is knowing when to stop —
the moment when the next gesture no longer adds,
but begins to take away.

This is not an instruction or a formula.
What follows is an authorial process:
observing how a work arrives at this state,
layer by layer.

Save if you’re interested in watching
how subtle marks and depth emerge without force.

This painting was created as part of my design practice.
It’s about rhythm, proportion, and calm — a dialogue between art and interior.
