Before you renovate your kitchen, ask yourself these three questions.

What’s actually not working?
Not what looks dated, what genuinely frustrates you every day. Storage, flow, lighting.
Start there.

What do you want to feel when you walk in?
Calm? Energized?
That answer drives every material decision.

What’s your non-negotiable?
Every great kitchen has one element the homeowner refused to compromise on.
Know yours before the budget conversations start.

The answers to these three questions will tell you more about your kitchen than any mood board.

Most people play it safe with the backsplash.
Subway tile. White. Done.

This Saskatoon kitchen went a different direction. Bold geometric tile - navy, blush, cream, floor to ceiling behind the range. Warm wood island. Marble waterfall end panel. Flat-front cream cabinetry with integrated handles.

Every element was chosen to let the tile lead without the rest of the room fighting it.

That’s the balance, one bold decision, everything else in service of it.

Saskatoon yards are waking up.
This one was ready.

Black rock around the tree. White crushed stone border along the drive.
Ornamental grasses just starting to push through. A side yard that finally has a reason to exist.

None of it is complicated. All of it is intentional.

This is what a consultation can do before a single shovel hits the ground.

It’s never one big decision that makes a kitchen work. It’s five small ones.

A backsplash with shape.
Hardware with character.
A pendant that earns a second look.
An island colour that grounds the whole room.
A countertop that ties it together.

None of these are the most expensive line on the budget. All of them are the first things you notice.

That’s the work, finding the details that do the heavy lifting.

Two-tone cabinetry.
Timeless marble.
An island where the stone catches the light from every angle.

This Saskatoon kitchen wasn’t about following trends, it was about pairing warm, lived-in materials with finishes that will still feel right in 15 years.

The dark wood lower cabinets ground the space. The white uppers keep it bright. The marble runs from counter to cabinets behind the stove and sink, treating it as the feature it deserves to be, not a backsplash afterthought.

Every detail had a reason.
That’s what makes a kitchen feel like yours.

Sometimes one element changes the entire room.

This custom display cabinet was the moment in this Saskatoon kitchen, the piece that took the space from “renovated” to intentional.

Black framing, walnut interior, glass doors, integrated lighting. It’s storage, but it’s also the focal point you walk toward.
Good design isn’t about adding more. It’s about choosing the one or two things that earn the spotlight.

What’s the focal point in your kitchen?

Walls came down. Ceilings came up. Light came in.

This Saskatoon kitchen went from a closed-off, dark layout to an open-concept space that finally fits how this family actually lives.

Sometimes a kitchen doesn’t need a refresh. It needs a rethink.
