I'm juuuuust starting to get back into regularly using Instagram again after about 8 months almost entirely offline. I'm starting with sharing on Stories more often to get back into the groove, and here's a quick photo to add a pop of summer colour to my grid just because.

We've done around 35 weddings already this season, maybe more actually, but I haven't shared anything! Let's fix that ❤️

Oof this one was pretty. Behind the scenes phone snaps of a stunning 2-day Indian wedding where we designed Day 1 (the ceremony and lunch) to have the same florals as Day 2 (the reception) but both days actually had completely different primary colour palettes - and we repurposed 100% of the flowers from Day 1 in Day 2.

Frid Events is hiring for the 2026 event season!

We’re looking for two Production Assistants to join our team and help run the logistics and production behind our weddings and events.

This role focuses on the operational side of the business: studio resets, inventory management, deliveries, event setups, and late-night tear downs. It’s hands-on work that requires reliability, attention to detail, and a strong work ethic.

If you enjoy working with a small team, taking ownership of your work, and being part of a well-organized production environment, we’d love to hear from you.

📅 Season: April 13 – November 1
⏰ Hours: 20–30+ hours per week
📍 Frid Events, our central home-based studio in Ottawa, plus events at a variety of exciting venues

Applications close April 1.

To apply, please follow the instructions in the slides above.

DMs will *not* be read or responded to.

If you know someone who would be a great fit, please share this post or send it their way!

A personal update 💗

After a lot of reflection, Lee and I ended our relationship one month ago. He moved out last week.

This wasn’t sudden, and there’s no drama to share, just two people recognizing that their chapter had come to a close. I’m grateful for the years, the adventures, and the memories, and I truly wish him well.

To my clients & colleagues: work has continued to move forward steadily. I’m very happy to share that my former production & floral manager has rejoined the team. She’s continued to be a powerhouse in this industry over the years and is already hard at work here. We’re well ahead in our spring prep and feeling great about the coming year. I’ll share more soon.

Thank you for your continued support through so many chapters of my life.

Onward.

Our second design at the Open House, incorporating the most requested colour of 2025: sage!

We are always asked to do sage with white florals and crisp lines, so I wanted to switch it up and add some lavender a peach tones to make it a little more springy.

And then I got into a purple picnic vibe that I probably took too far but who cares, I can do whatever I like at my showcase haha 😆

It was SO nice meeting everyone at the NAC’s Open House on Sunday!

Last year, I had no idea what to expect or what we should even do for our first design showcase. I think I overdid it lol. We were on our feet for 56 hours doing prep and set up before the couples arrived. I was so nervous and exhausted, but it was a wonderful.

This year, I was much better prepared and I was able to simplify it. I looked through every client contract and built each table design with specific couples in mind so they could see elements of their wedding in real life. I got to talk to everyone single person in depth (over 100 people!) and answer every question they had as we played with decor.

I hope everyone felt special - that was my goal. I wasn’t there to upsell. I wanted them to know that I appreciate their time and their trust. Every event matters deeply to me: these aren’t just contracts to me, they are my whole world. I remember every client I’ve ever had, and every design I’ve ever made. It was nice to make such a big endeavour like the Open House feel intimate and special ❤️

This was the first design set in the Spring section, featuring a round and a rectangular table with the same design inverted between the two tables. We had a 5-arm candelabra with a floral base on the round, and bud vases on the rectangle.

Happy New Year, friends! 🍾🥂 I’ve been detoxing from social media since the beginning of December (still am) but I’m popping back on for a little marketing/maintenance for one night only because we’re still crazy busy 😅

We haven’t stopped since… July. Even November, December and now January have been busy with contracts for us, which is highly unusual. We have 4 events between today and next weekend too, but I *think* we’re about to hit our true off-season. We might even try to get away for another little trip, we’ll see!

We hope you all had a wonderful holiday season, and to our vendor friends, we hope you are enjoying the much deserved off-season, we’re jelly!
