Creators never really tell you about how much really goes on between start and completion of a project.
This quilt has been on the go for some time now. I worked on the blocks in between other projects until I decided "hey! I should enter a quilt in the Norfolk County Fair!" (,cue the chaos)
I had already spent several hours cutting and sewing all the blocks, but the real work began when I started quilting. There are close to 15 hours of sewing straight lines, ripping some out again, resewing, rolling, adjusting, winding bobbins, switching needles, etc in this quilt. I haven't counted how many straight(ish) lines I've actually sewn.
Then there is the clean up, and prep for the binding (which has yet to be attached) and finally washing.
When someone balks at the price of a handmade quilt please remind them of the hours and effort that goes in.
Please check out the Norfolk County fair as I will have a few items entered (under Becky Felber ) one being this quilt!
