After months of drawing shells, driftwood, stones and coastal flowers, my new Vancouver Island beach map is finished! 😍

I took the first framed print down to the beach, and it was such a satisfying moment to see all those little details come together in the place that inspired them.

This one took a lot of patience, and I’m so happy with how it turned out. I hope you like it as much as I do!

Two more provinces have joined my growing Canada map collection! 🇨🇦

My new Saskatchewan and Québec maps are now complete, featuring detailed topographic terrain, familiar places and several colour choices. Each map can also be personalized with a family name, hometown, university, special date or meaningful message.

Next up on my map-making list: Manitoba and New Brunswick!

Which province or territory would you like to see after those?

I'm so happy! 😍

My new Vancouver Island beach-inspired map is about 80% complete! I’m building the Island from driftwood, shells, pebbles, seaweed and coastal flowers - all hand-drawn.

There are still plenty of little details to add, but it’s finally coming together. What always makes you think of a Vancouver Island beach? What do you think I should add?

A closer look at Vancouver Island - from the mountain ranges and rugged coastline to the ocean depths that surround it. 🗺️

This is one of my most detailed Vancouver Island maps, locally designed and printed right here on the Island.

I’ve been slowly building a new collection of Canadian topographic maps - one province and territory at a time. 🇨🇦

So far I’ve finished British Columbia, Alberta, Ontario, Nova Scotia, PEI and Yukon, with Quebec up next.

Each design highlights the terrain, familiar places and landscapes that give each part of Canada its own character. They can also be personalized with your own title and subtitle - a hometown, family name, meaningful date, coordinates or anything else that connects you to the place.

Eventually, the goal is to have every province and territory represented.

A little celebration of Canada, one map at a time. ❤️

It’s a bouquet. It’s a map. It’s a little bit of both.

I hand-drew familiar Vancouver Island plants - including tiger lily, red huckleberry, trillium, Garry oak and fireweed - and arranged them into the shape of the Island.

Now available as art prints, posters & greeting cards at mapsasart.com.

Making this new Iceland map turned into a tiny Icelandic place-name lesson.

I learned about characters like Þ and ð, and also when not to add English words like “falls,” “lake,” or “glacier” because the Icelandic names often already say that.

Tiny map nerd details, but they matter. 🗺️

Shown here in Glacier, Slate, and Midnight.

Which colour would you choose?
I have a new Bahamas map print in a few different colour options, and I’m curious which one stands out to you most.

Do you like the brighter tropical blue, the deep midnight navy, the softer sage, or one of the other shades?

I’m leaning tropical… but the navy is making a strong case. 🌊
