🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿🌼Happy St. David’s Day 🌼 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

March 1st is a day to celebrate Wales and St. David, who reminded us to do the small things well and care deeply for our communities.

Born in Llanelli a seaside industrial town on the south coast of Wales. Not fancy. Not polished. Just authentic. A place shaped by tinplate, steel, and coal exports, proudly nicknamed Tinopolis because it once helped supply the world. A spot where sea air mixed with industry built on hard work, resilience, and a strong community that had to shows up for each other.

Growing up connected to a place where the tide rolls in beside smokestacks does something to you. You learn grit. You learn pride. You learn that belonging isn’t about perfection it’s about honest real people.

LOOKING AHEAD TO 2026 + BEYOND

We’re honoured to be featured in the latest issue of , where our own Jamie Banfield joins fellow B.C. designers Sarah Gallop and Pam Capitulo to share what we believe will define character-filled homes in 2026.

What we’re seeing is a clear shift away from perfection and trend-chasing, and toward homes that feel warmer, more human, and built to last. Earth-led colour palettes, organic forms, layered textures, thoughtful lighting, and spaces designed for real life not just photographs are shaping the next chapter of residential design. Comfort, longevity, and emotional connection are no longer “nice to have” they’re essential.

A huge thank you to Michelle Hopkins for the beautiful write-up and for spotlighting the incredible design talent we have here in B.C.

INTENTIONAL DESIGN

Lights, camera, action! Global BC’s Open House dropped by our Chestnut Lane project to explore two of the home’s hardest-working spaces the upper-floor laundry and the main-floor laundry + mudroom.

Today’s best mudrooms and laundry rooms are being designed like kitchens practical, durable, and layered with personality and intention. When clients invest in these spaces, they spend more time there than they ever imagined… and love every minute of it.

We’re seeing a major shift toward treating these utility zones as design moments, not afterthoughts. By connecting laundry rooms to bedroom levels or adding a “dirty” main-floor option, homeowners are building in real-life convenience. Pair moody tones with warm woods and matte metals for timeless charm, and watch how thoughtful details turn everyday chores into everyday joy.
