I live in a beautiful area, but sometimes the tides can be a challenge. Today I kept putting off my evening swim because I was enjoying my work, and by the time I got out, there was nothing but mud to swim in. Maybe one day I’ll live on a lake. But definitely not Lake America!

Here’s a piece I made years ago, a commission for a woman in British Columbia—a province that will always be very near and dear to my heart.

It depicts an orca with mountains and a city in the background, and it feels relevant because, as most of you have probably heard, an orca was recently spotted in the Canso Causeway. Add that to Old Thom, the orca who regularly visits the Bay of Fundy, and I’m thinking an “East Coast Orca” painting might be in order.
