πŸŒ…πŸΊ Good Morning Everyone & Happy Friday πŸΊπŸŒ…

This morning I wanted to share a teaching about the Wolf.

In many Indigenous teachings, the Wolf is associated with humility, family, loyalty, strength, and community. Wolves survive because they work together. They protect one another, teach their young, and understand that every member of the pack has a role and a purpose.

One of the teachings I carry from the Wolf is that we were never meant to walk this life completely alone. We all need connection, guidance, and support from time to time. Just as a wolf watches over its pack, we should look out for one another and help lift each other up when life becomes difficult.

The Wolf also reminds us to trust our instincts. Sometimes our spirit already knows the direction we need to take, but fear causes us to hesitate. The Wolf teaches us to listen to that inner voice and walk our path with confidence.

Today, I encourage everyone to take a moment to appreciate the people in your circle, whether that's family, friends, community, or those who have become family along the way.

🐺 Creator, thank you for another day. Help us walk with humility, loyalty, courage, and kindness. May we remember that we are stronger when we support one another and may we find balance in all four parts of ourselves: mind, body, emotion, and spirit. Ekosi. ❀️

Wishing everyone a beautiful Friday filled with good medicine, good people, and good energy.

🐺❀️🌿

β˜€οΈ Happy Friday Everyone! β˜€οΈ

Happy June 19th! πŸ’œ

I hope everyone is heading into the day with a good heart, a clear mind, and something to be grateful for.

The sun is shining, summer is here, the gardens are growing, the beads are flowing, and life keeps moving forward one day at a time. πŸŒΏπŸ¦‹πŸŒ»

As we move into another weekend, don't forget to take a moment for yourself. Have your coffee a little slower, spend some time outside, check in with your loved ones, and appreciate the little things that often get overlooked.

I'm looking forward to another day of beading, creating, gardening, and connecting with all of you.

Thank you for being here, for supporting my page, and for sharing your journeys with me along the way.

Wishing everyone a beautiful Friday filled with laughter, blessings, good medicine, and positive energy. ❀️

Have a wonderful day, everyone! β˜•πŸŒžπŸŒΏ

πŸ¦‹βœ¨ Project Update & Goodnight βœ¨πŸ¦‹

A little progress before I call it a night. πŸŒ™

I've got the outline finished, the center started, and this sunflower-inspired butterfly is slowly coming to life. πŸ’›πŸ’šπŸ€Ž

I still have a lot of beading ahead of me, but I'm really loving how the colors are coming together. Every piece starts with a vision, a pile of beads, and a little bit of patience. 😊

Tonight I'm putting the beads away, getting some rest, and letting my eyes recover before I continue tomorrow.

Thank you to everyone who follows along with my beading journey, leaves comments, shares teachings, and supports my work. It means more than you know.

Wishing everyone a peaceful night, sweet dreams, and good medicine. 🌿✨

Goodnight everyone. πŸ’œπŸ¦‹

I never really paid much attention to it before, but Ember has two different colored eyes. One is darker and one is lighter. I think it makes her even more unique. ❀️

She's growing so fast and turning into such a beautiful girl. Every day I notice something new about her, and today it was her eyes. 🐾

πŸͺΆβœ¨ The History of Beading in Indigenous Cultures ✨πŸͺΆ

Many people are surprised to learn that Indigenous peoples were creating beautiful beadwork long before glass beads arrived in North America.

Before European contact, First Nations, Inuit, and MΓ©tis peoples used natural materials to decorate clothing, regalia, bags, moccasins, and ceremonial items. These included porcupine quills, shells, bones, claws, teeth, copper, seeds, stones, and carved materials. Quillwork was especially common and is considered one of the earliest forms of decorative art among many Nations.

Glass beads were introduced through trade with European explorers and fur traders beginning in the 1500s and becoming much more widespread during the fur trade era of the 1600s and 1700s. These beads came primarily from Europe, especially Venice, Italy, and later from Bohemia (now part of the Czech Republic).

Indigenous peoples quickly adapted these new materials and transformed them into unique art forms. Rather than simply copying European styles, they incorporated beads into their own cultural designs, teachings, symbols, and traditions.

Many of the floral beadwork patterns we recognize today, particularly among MΓ©tis people, developed during the fur trade era. The MΓ©tis became known for their intricate floral beadwork and were often called the "Flower Beadwork People."

Beading was never just decoration. It carried teachings, stories, family connections, identity, and cultural knowledge. Designs often reflected the land, medicines, animals, plants, and beliefs of the people creating them.

Today, beading continues to be a way of preserving culture, sharing teachings, healing from trauma, connecting with community, and honoring our ancestors. Every bead carries intention, and every piece tells a story.

πŸ¦… One bead at a time, we continue the work of those who came before us.

🌞 Good Morning Everyone 🌞

You know what? I think I'm officially over these bonuses.

Don't get me wrong, the extra $45 or $70 is nice, but when you really sit down and think about the amount of time, effort, posting, cross-posting, sharing, creating reels, tracking views, and trying to figure out what Facebook actually wants... is it really worth it?

Making the reels isn't even the hard part. Getting the views is.

And don't even get me started on cross-posting. Facebook tells you to cross-post, but you can cross-post a dozen times and maybe one gets recognized. The rest seem to disappear into some black hole.

I've even sat and talked with Meta AI about some of these challenges, and even it admits that Facebook's wording isn't always as straightforward as it sounds. Everything is written in a way that leaves room for interpretation, and honestly, it feels like the more you try to understand it, the more confusing it becomes.

What really pushed me over the edge was having videos removed yesterday that were doing well and getting close to the bonus goals. No explanation. No warning. Just gone.

Meanwhile, I keep seeing creators losing content, losing reach, and sometimes even losing entire accounts.

At some point I had to ask myself if I was creating because I enjoyed it or because I was chasing a challenge.

The answer is simple.

I enjoy creating. I enjoy sharing my beadwork, my teachings, my gardening, my life, my culture, and my journey. That's the part that matters.

So if I earn a bonus, great. If I don't, I'm not stressing over it anymore.

I'm going back to creating because I want to, not because a billion-dollar company wants me to work harder for pocket change.

Anyway, that's my morning coffee rant. πŸ˜‚

Hope everyone has a beautiful day ahead. πŸ’œ

πŸ¦‹πŸŒ» Tonight's project is officially getting started! πŸŒ»πŸ¦‹

This butterfly has been calling to me for a while now. I wanted to combine the butterfly teachings with the energy of the sunflower, so I'm going with earthy colors this time around.

I'm thinking greens, yellows, browns, and blacks with a little sparkle mixed in. πŸ’›πŸ’šπŸ–€πŸ€Ž

What do you think so far? Does the color layout look okay? Would you keep it as is, or would you change anything before I start beading?

I always love hearing everyone's thoughts before I get too far into a project. Sometimes the best ideas come from this community. 😊

I'm about to settle in, put on some music, and spend some time at the bead table.

Hope everyone has a beautiful night filled with peace, rest, and good medicine. 🌿✨

Goodnight, everyone! πŸ’œ
