Well I don't know what to say, other than thanks for supporting our dinky little business over the last 5 years.
I started up this Veracious page during Covid, when I left my old job behind and became a stay-at-home-parent, lightning-quick and fell hard for being my own boss and making fun (read: not normal) objects of affection for really nice people. It also has not remotely been easy.
I think probably with every self-run startup there comes a time when you reach a crossroads and need to decide between being an independent worker bug, or not worrying about paying bills 24/7. I was fiercely, FIERCELY battling on the side of freedom, but at the cost of my own financial and mental health and sense of self worth. In the end, I'm damn glad I have such a supportive partner in Tara to help guide me toward positivity, and away from the generational trauma and shame I've coped very wrongly with my whole life.
I'm happy to finally be on the plus side of life now.
I haven't been active here or in general in the last six months, and I wholeheartedly apologize for this. I kind of needed to pull myself together in order to move forward. How I tend to do that is by isolating myself, it seems.
As for the future, I'm starting on a cool new path shortly with a growing company in the medical equipment field that will highlight my maker and wrenching skills and challenge the puzzle solving ADHDer in me. I intend to SHINE!
Here are a few of my eclectic "babies" I've made over the years. From the first lamp I made where I thought "Holy sh*t! THIS is cool!", to the last board I made-a pizza peel- for a friend's birthday. I've had an incredible time making fun things for you and will still be. Just not for profit. Only fun. I have to say that I fell a little in love with each one of these, and always felt sad when they were finally complete and off to their people. I'll be leaving this up for a little while and then be shutting this page down on instagram and facebook.
