Ready to Start Your Sewing Adventure? New 2026 Beginner & Intermediate Classes Announced! 🪡
2026 Classes to be Offered:
Beginner Sewing (Non-Garment Foundations) - Beginner+
> 1 session (6 hours).
> Learn: machine basics (threading, tension, needles), stitch chart/guide, straight & curved practice, buttonholes, zippers, measuring/marking/cutting (rotary cutting demo), and proper pressing.
> Project: sew a zipper pouch to practice the skills.
Beginner Quilting: Alternate Rail Fence (54” x 72”) - Beginner+
> 2 sessions.
> Session 1: fabric prep, cutting, “quilt math,” and accurate piecing to start block assembly.
> Session 2: borders, basting the quilt “sandwich,” and quilting ideas.
------------QUILTING SKILL-BUILDERS------------
Quilt Binding (Stand-alone class) - Intermediate+
Great as an add-on to Beginner Quilting, or for anyone who only wants binding techniques.
> Covers: trimming, regular binding, machine vs hand binding, fl**ge binding, reversible/two-sided binding, scallops/inside corners, facing (no binding on the front), and pulling backing to the front to bind.
Beginner Free Motion Quilting - Beginner+
Stress-free skill class using sample pieces.
> Learn multiple patterns, tips, styles, and options beyond straight lines/stitch-in-the-ditch (beginner-friendly and a good refresher too).
Introduction to Ruler Work - Intermediate+
Learn how to finish quilts using rulers/templates and practice designs on a “mock quilt.”
> Includes guided work with starter-kit templates for 4–6” blocks and borders (supply list provided at time of registration).
---------MACHINE-FOCUSED CLASSES---------
Befriending Your Serger (3 hours) - Beginner+
> Learn: benefits, parts, 2/3/4-thread usage, stitch length, differential feed, thread/needle choices.
> Bring: serger + pedal/cord, manual (if you have it), basic supplies, and lots of questions.
---------FIT & FINISHING WORKSHOPS---------
HEMS (2 sessions, 3 hours each) - Beginner+
Bring your sewing machine + supplies and at least 3 garments each day needing hem changes (marked/pinned if possible).
> Bring some matching threads if you can; notions are also available in-store.
ALTERATIONS (3 hours) - Beginner+
Bring at least 3 items to alter, your machine (working order), and standard sewing supplies (pins, threads, needles, scissors, marking tools, measuring tape, etc.).
> Learn practical tricks to improve fit and comfort (and common mending techniques).

Bra Making Workshop (Lanai Wireless Bra) - Intermediate+
> Size-inclusive, supportive wireless bra project with skills from measurements to materials, construction, and fitting adjustments.
> Includes materials to start a practice bra (white + contrasting thread) and materials to begin a second bra in select colours.
> Participants should already be comfortable operating a sewing machine.
