New Brunswick,
This is not goodbye, it’s a bow at the end of a powerful act.
Drag gave me a voice when silence felt safer, courage when fear was louder, and joy when the world felt heavy. On stages across this province, under lights both bright and dim, I learned what it means to be seen, and to let others be seen too. Drag challenged me, stretched me, and healed parts of me I didn’t know were broken.
To New Brunswick, thank you for the love, the cheers, the quiet nods of understanding, and yes, even the resistance. Growth is never comfortable. Drag was never meant to be. It exists to question, to provoke, to celebrate truth in its most glittering and raw forms. If drag made you uncomfortable, I hope it also made you think. If it made you feel joy, hold onto that, it matters.
To the q***r kids watching from the edges of the room, or through a screen on social media, wondering if there’s space for you here, there is. Your light belongs in this province. You do not have to shrink to survive. Be bold. Be kind. Be unapologetically yourself.
As I step away from drag, I do so with gratitude, not loss. The art lives on in every performer who dares to step into their truth, in every audience member who chooses curiosity over fear, and in every community that believes love should never be up for debate.
New Brunswick, keep growing. Keep questioning. Keep choosing compassion.
The lashes may come off, but the impact remains.
With love, pride, and purpose, thank you to Richard and family members, your support will be remembered always. ❤️
