A 1970s office tower doesn’t usually get a facelift. In Toronto, 95 Wellington Street did, reclad entirely in Bethel White™️ granite panels set on an aluminum ventilated facade system from Eclad. The result is a refreshed building in the heart of the financial district that reads as new construction.

The citizens of Wiesbaden have a nickname for it: the sugar cube. Designed by Pritzker Prize-winning architect Fumihiko Maki, the Museum Reinhard Ernst houses over 860 works of abstract art behind 6,000 square meters of Bethel White™ granite facade, quarried from Polycor's quarry in Bethel, Vermont.

The architect's team considered stone from around the world and narrowed it to two options that met their brightness requirements. Bethel White™ won. Its bush-hammered finish catches and amplifies sunlight, and unlike other white granites, it won't oxidize or darken over time with no dyes, no coatings, just the stone as it comes out of the ground.

Before air conditioning was universal, New York City was already planning for the future of power. The Consolidated Edison Building in Midtown Manhattan, completed in 1929, was clad in INDIANA LIMESTONE - STANDARD BUFF™ from Polycor’s Indiana quarries and its facade tells the whole story.

Carved limestone torches, candles, burning urns, and lightning bolts ornament the exterior, celebrating the very infrastructure that was transforming American life at the time.

Officially designated a New York City Landmark in 2009, the building remains one of the finest examples of how natural stone and architectural detail can carry a cultural message across centuries. These before and after photos, separated by generations, show how the building still commands it presence in the city skyline.

Nearly 100 years later, that limestone looks exactly as it was intended. Build for permanence, build with confidence using natural stone.

Before a single paver reaches a plaza, a facade, a backyard or a floor, it starts like this with perforated holes drilled at equal spacing and pneumatic tooling splitting the block along the line. No shortcuts and no guessing, just stone worked correctly from the start. This is what the first phases of stone extraction looks like up close.

Five granites. One plaza. Parc Michel-Bélanger at National Bank Place in Montreal's financial district used a medley of North American stone - Caledonia™, Titanium Pearl™, and Kodiak Brown™ for paving, Bethel White™ fabricated into custom seating blocks, and Stanstead Grey™ on the secondary elevation. All the pavers were cut in a 4"x4" format across both the ground plaza and fifth-floor rooftop terrace. Four of the five stones came out of Quebec quarries and the fifth from Vermont.
