If you haven’t tried Kinusaiga before, it’s a wonderfully satisfying way to turn beautiful pieces of fabric into a piece of art-- no sewing required! You’ll get to rummage through a whole collection of fun fabrics, choose your favourites, and create your own unique panel, complete with a frame and ready to display.

Come make something pretty, spend a few hours doing something creative, and get a chance to share some laughs while you're at it!

Are you interested in having your besties over to create something pretty? I'd love to help out! The Sundrop Workshop can be set up for a group of 6 or more, and I'm offering the organizer's fee for no cost. Each participant is $25 for a single strand, or $75 for a strand of 4, which you can hang from a driftwood branch or keep as individual strands. This craft is suitable for adults and older teens, and could be suitable for older children if there is an adult or two there to assist. Serving the Sarnia area, and will travel to the Chatham area for a travel fee. DM me if you have questions. I'd love to hear from you!

Come to my kinusaiga workshop and learn about this fun, accessible, fabric-based artform! While kinusaiga doesn't take any special skills to do, it does take some time to complete a panel, so this first class will keep it simple. Choose from lots of fun fabrics and create a patchwork-type of panel, complete with a frame and ready to hang on your wall or rest on a shelf. Everything you need is provided.

When I first discovered kinusaiga, it reminded me of stained glass, and, also being a huge fan of fabric arts, I was interested immediately. I drew patterns, shopped for fabric, and taught myself how to adapt the traditional method of tucking kimono silks into wood with grooves sliced into it to something more accessible and less intimidating. And a new obsession was born! I’m having so much fun playing with patterns and colours and textures and shapes! The patterns are a little more forgiving than those for glass and that flexibility is freeing.

I’m happy to announce that I’ll be sharing my excitement for this artform in classes soon! The first series will be at Wishlist Shop on August 26. More details to follow tomorrow! I’ll also be offering this one at home parties for 5 or more people. Reach out if you’re interested. And my home studio is nearing completion, so more classes coming in the fall!

This is an accessible artform, no special skills are needed. A little patience and a sense of adventure are all you need! I’d love to have you join me.
