This canvas has been sitting on my easel since January, I haven’t been able to bring myself to paint Max… I honestly didn’t think it’d be this hard, there was some excitement(?) because I’m exploring acrylics and he’d be the first dog I’ve ever painted with them on canvas. I want this medium to be an option for people to commission but I keep looking and walking by and I don’t “need” to do his portrait before I start offering it as an option. Theres no timeline for me to finish his portrait but it’s just sitting here unfinished. Sometimes I feel bad because painting him should be easy? I loved him and it’s always easier to paint when you’re connected to the subject and Max deserves a fancy portrait. Maybe it’s pressure that I’m going to screw up? Idk. I also feel like I can’t work on any other painting cause I haven’t finished his portrait. I don’t where this post was going but ✨ feelings and rambling ✨ .
