I feel I need to take a moment and acknowledge our fantastic and hard working Sew Easy team.

So many of the lovely messages and wishes have been sent to Alton and I, but these folks worked just as hard and cared just as much about our fibre community as we did.

Always doing their best to serve our community with patience, grace and humour, we're so grateful for each of you.

Cathy, Danielle, Jan and Nell, each of you are a gift that we've been so lucky to have working with us. Thank you for everything. ❤️

One final act of service, this sewing machine was dropped off for servicing in June and needed a motor belt ordered and replaced. There is one more authorization to be done but the paperwork got separated from its machine and the technician doesn't know who it belongs to.

If it's yours or you know who it belongs to please give us a call so we can reunite you!

Thank you all so much for your continued support and thoughtful words as we head into our last week.  The guestbook is full of comments and stories from all of you, our wonderful customers and we're so grateful that you've all shared those memories with us.  It's those moments in time that have made everything worth it.

Thank you so much to everyone who has taken the time to come in, to email, to call and express how much they'll miss the shop.  It really means a lot to all of us that Sew Easy was so special for so many.  If you want to take the opportunity we have a 'guest' book that anyone can write in to share a memory or story of Sew Easy, in any of it's iterations.  Sew Easy has been a part of the Coastal community for much longer than us and we're grateful for that legacy. 

We are stepping up our clearance sale, and starting today everything in store that isn't already marked lower is now 50% off!

- There are numerous store samples that are all for sale, as well as fixtures and display items are ready for a new life being useful elsewhere. 

- All of our sewing patterns (Burda, Jalie, and Cashmerette) are $5 each! Also, any in stock pre-printed knitting and crochet patterns (from the binders) are only $1 each!

- We've still got plenty of fabric and yarn so even if you've been in once, it might be worth a second look!

There has been so much discussion recently over what the future of Sew Easy will be, and we are finally able to let you know what's happening.

Effective September 13th Sew Easy will be closing.

We know this is not the outcome that many folks wanted, but this is the course we've chosen.  We want to say THANK YOU to everyone who's shopped with us over the past 11 years that we've owned the store, shared a project or asked about the future of the shop. It has been wonderful to know how much the store means to people. Over the course of 52 years in Sechelt, Sew Easy has served almost everyone in our community. Whether you're an experienced knitter, just learning to sew, or simply looking for a patch for your ripped jeans, we like to joke that everyone ends up in Sew Easy eventually, and it really has felt like it.

 
We want to make sure that you understand that our closure was a choice we made and wasn't because of any larger cause.  It has nothing to do with the Trail Bay Centre renovations (and in fact the mall has been a terrific landlord), we are not moving away, and business has been steady or growing. Quite simply, we have been trying to sell for two and half years and we decided we have waited long enough to move on to our next adventure as a family.

The Details:

Starting Friday August 22nd we will begin discounting our inventory with the intention of selling as much as we can by the closing date. 

All fixtures and equipment and fittings will also be available for purchase.

All sales will be final and no returns or exchanges will be allowed. 

Discounts will be store wide unless individual items are marked. 

Store points and gift cards will be valid until the last day, but no new points or cards will be issued. 

Pattern printing services will continue to be available at regular price until closing.  

September 6th will be the last day to drop off machines for servicing to Chris at Versatech.

Meet Sparky the Pig! Sparky has been lovingly knit then felted by with Rico Creative Fun Felting Wool and a lot of heart. Sparky enjoys basking in the spring sunshine, munching on fresh grass and trying to catch the elk that graze in the nearby woods. (It's hard to keep up on such short legs!)
Sparky the Pig pattern by Cindy Pilon and is available on Ravelry or in store. We used 7 balls of Rico Fun Felting Wool in Grey.

Rug makers rejoice! You've been asking for rug base material for so long and we've finally found something for you. We have 7 count 100% cotton Monk's Cloth and 3 county 100% cotton rug canvas, both by the metre. Get your hooks ready to go!

Feb. 5th - Sew Easy is open today! But it's still chilly and icy outside so if you're going out bundle up in all those woolies you've been making and be safe.
