I was excited to be part of this pattern test for Cecilia. It was so much fun to pick out coordinating fabric and colours and even broke out my much neglected sewing machine to add the liner. I added this one to a "bone" themed gifts basket, so now I have to make a new one for myself 💀

I took a break from making book sleeves last week to make some housewarming gifts for my friend's girls. They just moved to Alberta and I'm so excited that they are close enough to visit more often than every few years 💕

I was lucky to be chosen to test another great pattern by Origins Yarn Studio! This hookncase is perfect for keeping my crochet hooks and other essentials close at hand, wherever I go 🧶

It's also always fun to learn a new stitch along the way with a pattern test, and this one really added a unique look to the case 💕

Raided my mom's button stash to make some book sleeves for Parkland Book Nook. Which one is your favourite??

It's been a minute since I did a pattern test, so it was nice to jump back into it with this book sleeve by Origins Yarn Studio! The pattern was easy to follow and quick to make up. The pattern will be released in a few days 🧶

Made using a 5mm hook. Blue yarn is Red Heart Super Saver and turquoise is an old Zellers (🤯) worsted that I stole from my mom's yarn stash 😅 I have no idea where the button came from, but I look forward to collecting more unique buttons to make fun book sleeves with!

The book sleeve pattern is simple to adjust to the size of your book, like this one by local author HM Shander

I had the house to myself all week! I worked almost every day, and got a few things done around the house, but that still left plenty of uninterrupted time for crocheting and reading...and I didn't have to share my snacks!

Are you outdoorsy? I'm not at all, but I've been trying to take my indoor hobbies outside more often for some sunshine and fresh air.

The last time I was reading on the deck, my 6 year old made me an iced tea with a special heart ice cube and joined me 🩷

I'm stuck crocheting and reading inside this week with all the rain we're getting, but I'll be looking forward to the next sunny day ☀️

Sadly, just a few days after their 2nd "gotcha day", we lost one of our gerbils, Luigi. My son was heartbroken so I make him a Luigi he can keep forever, complete with his little white toes and beard. Of course he needed a Mario to pair with, even though he is doing well on his own. I'm so thankful that this little hobby of mine could help ease his heartbreak, even if just a little bit.

Fellow crocheters! Do you have a favourite cute and quick small unicorn pattern? I want to make 10+ for my kiddo's birthday party in 2 weeks, but am struggling to find one I love. I did loaf cat adoptions as a take-home for her kitty party last year and I'd love to do something similar for her this year. 🦄
