Old incandescent string lights pull way more power than people realize, especially once you're running two or three sets around the whole roofline.

Our LED system uses a fraction of that. Lit every night from October through New Year's, the difference shows up on the bill.

It's not the reason most people switch, but it's a nice bonus once they do.

Before you sign with anyone, ask three questions: what's covered, for how long, and does it include the visit if something needs fixing.

Open any garage in this city and you'll find the same box. Extension cords knotted together, a timer nobody reset after the time change, a bulb that burnt out in January and never got replaced.

It's not that people don't care. It's that string lights were never built to be a long-term system. They're built to be put up and taken down every single year.
