I got the most wonderful surprise in the mail, and I’m so excited to share it with you! 🥰

Twenty years ago, I purchased my very first business licence and opened my interior design business right here in Stony Plain. Ten years later, I took another big step and opened my storefront on Main Street.

And now, here we are—another 10 years later! ❤️

I’m feeling incredibly grateful as I look back on this journey. Thank you from the bottom of my heart to all of my amazing customers, friends, family, and everyone who has encouraged, believed in, and supported me along the way.

I truly couldn’t have done it without you! Here’s to 20 years of dreams, design, community, and so many wonderful memories. 🥂✨

Dara’s is officially 10 years old! A milestone that still feels a little surreal. I’ve been thinking a lot about where this dream started… long before I opened my shop in Stony Plain, I spent my childhood in my grandmother’s store: the Lunnford General Store, seven miles southeast of Barrhead.

My grandma, Rita Johnson, ran that store for 42 years. I loved helping her, watching her greet every customer by name, and seeing how a small shop could become the heart of a community.

I’m proud to carry her legacy forward. Thank you for supporting Dara’s for the past decade.

It’s a big week coming up! Midsummer Thursdays returns tomorrow, July 16, and I’ll be open late for anyone wanting to stop by, check out our sales table on the street, or chat about a home project.
