Do you love a good romantic story surrounding the things that go in your home?

Ju and Nat travel around seeking out the hidden gems on our doorstep in Surrey & London.

We go in search of the new secret garden escape that Chobham has to offer.

We visit our projects to bottom out site queries and details and to show you the real behind the scenes moments.

And yes Nat bought the romantic story at the Antiques fair and is now a proud owner of a Chinese shipwreck bowl, plus a european vanity case and two oars.

It doesn’t look it, but this Home bar was all sorts of awkward to plan out. We spent probably far too long analyzing the size of the armchairs and would they bash into anything if people got a bit swivel happy. The size of the rug couldn’t obstruct the bar stools pulling back and had to be far enough away from the hearth, yet fit all of the armchairs on. The bar had to be high enough to sit comfortably at, yet hide all the gubbins behind. There had to be a clear walkthrough as it was an adjoining room, and the door into the room was on an angle so the swing of it was ‘not normal’. We also had tons of different bottle sizes to contend with on the shelving.

But do you know what, all the planning worked, was worth it and we absolutely LOVE this room. Having had the chance to enjoy it of an actual eve, we can confirm it is designed not just to impress and give a bit of theatre, but it works and can comfortably be lived in, not a bashed leg in sight. Cheers to that! 🥂

March, you kept us busy… and were Otterly fantastic!

From soaking up inspiration at London Design Week to clocking serious steps on pretty much all of our project sites, it’s been a month of creativity and quick thinking.

We’ve been making sure everything runs smoothly — spotting issues before they become problems.

Design is in the details, and March was all about getting those details just right.

This quiet seating area sits within a very generous bedroom, proving that if you have the space… you absolutely should create a spot just for sitting with a coffee and pretending you’re about to read a book - we fully support this if, like us, it takes you a year to read a book due to the endless ‘to do list’.

For us this was a slightly unusual colour palette - inspired by the interiors of a Cary Grant film Indiscreet. The eau de nil keeps everything feeling fresh, buttercream yellow brings a soft cosy warmth (especially when the sunlight hits), and the burnt sienna adds just enough richness to stop it all feeling too sweet.

It’s quietly cheerful and right now we all need a bit of that, right?

From Site to Studio with Stephenson Wright - our February round up.

Not entirely sure where that month went, but looking back at this is a great reminder of how much can be achieved! And yes - there was in fact ONE day of sunshine!

We love the variation of our projects from quaint cottages with low ceilings to grand triple height hallways. It’s a perk of the job to lead these projects through such transformations - and whether it’s 900 sq ft or 19,000 — we design with the same intention and passion - we hope you can see how much we enjoy that process.

We had the honour to work with such a unique and wonderful client who’s heart glows pink from the inside out. Everything she exudes is in the joy of embracing life, sharing experiences, inspiring women and always lifting everyone around hers mood.

Her study with pink onyx, mother of pearl and soft gold studded ceiling was such a beautiful & feminine space to create and utterly reflects her personality. The emotional response we received when we handed over to her meant the absolute world to us.

From Studio to Site with Stephenson Wright - our January round up.

It’s been a while since we’ve been on here like this and to be honest we’ve missed it…we have some wild projects on right now and we couldn’t resist giving you a front row seat to it all as it happens.

We share the beginning stages of the full strip out and refurb of our Wentworth Project - one to watch.

Wood galore for our Country house project.

We get stuck into our long term clients’ extensive property portfolio and how we sprinkle our magic into maximising each space for him, no matter the size or budget.

To finish, a little tour of our St. Johns Wood project, nearing completion in the Spring and starting to shine.
