Shop Canada * Shop Local * Shop Green * Shop Danfield Antiques & Art
This year we are reminded again about spending our money at home as we Canadians feel the effects of tariffs and are repulsed by the “51st state” threats against our country.
As Susan and I head into our sweet 16th Christmas with Danfield’s Antiques & Art in Clarksburg, we remain focused on our commitment to Canadian heirloom furniture, paintings, pottery and artifacts.
Our items check all the boxes on your list: Canadian made; sold by local people; and the greenest gifts you can give. Decades and centuries from now, families will still be handing down these items and treasuring them still.
As part of Clarksburg’s Christmas Open House we will be open Friday December 5th from 5:00 to 8:00p.m. We’ve been busy stocking the shelves with inventory from new estates and currently have a tremendous selection of Canadiana. Warm up your home this Christmas from our wide selection of heirloom textiles; hooked and braided rugs, blankets and quilts. Need a blanket box for those textiles? We have several Quebec boxes right now as well as Waterloo and East Coast examples.
Admire our selection of First Nation’s artifacts from beautiful antique berry picking baskets to Tamarack geese and our very large selection of Inuit carvings.
Because we have a nicely curated selection of paintings from Canadian artists past and present, our store is a go to destination for both new and seasoned collectors. On offer are hundreds of artworks with affordable prices and Christmas cards by well-known artists. And yes, we also deal in highly collectible paintings that are a shrewd investment.
To brighten your home we have some shiny copper pans and haystacks and an exquisite two hundred year old brass chestnut roaster. If it’s furnishings you need you can count on us for everything from kitchen cupboards and flat to the walls, harvest tables, benches and farm stools. Looking for functional accent pieces? We’ve added a wide array of Canadian porcelain and pottery and some beautiful antique glassware including Waterford Crystal. Broaden your horizons with our historical maps and rare books, and vintage luggage labels.
We will be having a sale on the night of December 5th of a large selection of estate jewelry; both fine and costume as well as two genuine Hermes silk scarves and other fashion accessories for everyone.
New to Clarksburg is Inheritance Studios at 164 Clark Street. Oriana, the owner has many splendid hand crafted and one of kind items from Canadian and International artists and designers.
Our thanks to everyone for keeping our small local business aloft all these years and remember, gifts from the past make wonderful presents!
Merry Christmas * Happy Hannukah * Happy Holidays *
& All Best Wishes for a Peaceful 2026.
