You might have seen the post from the Painted Turtle Art Shop on Saturday but it’s official! Angie now owns the fine arts supply store that has been serving Thunder Bay since the 80s. Carrying on this legacy that has been woman-owned since the beginning and now it’s also 100% Indigenous owned.

We’ll be continuing our stained glass services and supplies but stay tuned for some of the new products we’ll be bringing in :)

Miigwetch to Angela Jensen and Lorraine Cull for all they’ve done for the local art scene. Lorraine will still be around in the shop here and there.

September through December drop-in stained glass class dates are now live over at Wazison Arts!

September and October will be all things Halloween and falling leaves and November and December will see the return of our extremely popular Christmas ornaments.

Being a stained glass artist with ADHD means I sometimes put a project to the side and forget about it.

This little guy has been hanging around since last October, partially soldered together. I used a mix of vinegar and salt to remove the oxidization from the exposed copper foil and older solder and it came together like I had just foiled it yesterday.

So if you also have a partially completed project that’s been sitting around it’s probably going to be fine and you can just continue on so long as you remove any oxidization.
