Went blueberry picking this afternoon.

I've been coming to this Brant County farm for more than 25 years. It's been part of our community for 45 years, and today I had the chance to chat with Farmer Bob for a few minutes.

Those are the moments that warm my heart. A quiet afternoon picking blueberries with my other half, supporting local, and appreciating the people behind it all.

You might think I'm traveling or hosting tours and sipping wine all the time. Yes but ... this is where you'll also find me.

Out in the garden. Hands in the dirt. Harvesting garlic.
This is my happy place.

Today's mission? Garlic harvest cleanup.

Day Four 2.0 of eating a raw garlic clove for my troubled cough & throat. Second round. It might sound a little crazy, but it's actually working.

Day 4 - Eating Garlic

Yesterday was a definite improvement after a full day of back-to-back tour hosting, so this morning I reached for another clove of raw garlic.

I'm genuinely curious now. Yesterday I talked all day without the coughing or that annoying crackle in my throat. Coincidence... or is the garlic actually helping?

I did a thing.

My mother-in-law’s special squash fritters… but with a little Spicy Jan pivot.

Dusted cinnamon.

And yes — dipped or drizzled in Nutella.

Tradition with a twist and honestly -- they were beautiful.

Old recipes deserve a little evolution sometimes.
