As an Algonquin person, the beaver has been an integral part of our culture. You can see it in the language, and in the amount of words we have for beaver.
Personally a good portion of my livelihood came from beavers. My dad was a trapper all my life and beaver pelts helped put food on the table for us in a very real way.
I've started using beaver fur in my moccasins. It might be a bit more expensive but its worth the cost and to me the best part is the feeling of coming full circle back to the beaver đĻĢ
