Not every empty corner needs a desk.
When we first walked through this model home, our builder client's design team had envisioned this nook off the dining room as a workspace.
But here's the thing. There was already a dedicated office on the main floor. Did we really need another one? Plus it is adjacent to the dining area. It didn't make sense at all.
Instead, we suggested turning it into a more intimate seating area. A little spot to sit, have a conversation, enjoy a coffee, or simply take a break from the rest of the house.
And we're glad we pushed for it. Everybody loved how it turned out!
Sometimes, it takes a fresh set of eyes to see what a space could really become.
Good design isn't always about adding more function just for the sake of it. It's about finding the right function for the space.
