Pull-apart ham > sliced ham. Trust me on this one.
The Thanksgiving ham recipe you need to try this year 👇🏼 This sticky Orange Glazed Pull-Apart Ham is sweet, caramelized and so tender you don’t even need to slice it.
I used Schneiders Bone-In Ham (which is Canadian BTW!!) and cooked it low and slow before glazing it over and over again at the end. The result is the BEST sticky glazed ham with caramelized edges and juicy, pull-apart pieces.
ORANGE GLAZED PULL-APART HAM
1 Schneiders Bone-In Ham
2–3 tbsp Dijon mustard
Dry Rub
½ cup brown sugar
2 tsp paprika
1½ tsp garlic powder
Orange Glaze
1 cup orange marmalade (or apricot jam)
1 cup brown sugar
½ cup butter
½ cup orange juice
Preheat oven to 325°F.
1. Remove the ham from the package and pat it completely dry with a paper towel. Place it in a roasting pan and spread a thin layer of Dijon mustard all over the outside.
2. Mix the brown sugar, paprika and garlic powder, then press the dry rub all over the mustard-coated ham.
3. Cover tightly with aluminum foil and bake for 2.5-3 hours.
4. Meanwhile, add the jam, brown sugar, butter and orange juice to a saucepan. Heat until melted, smooth and combined. Simmer for a few minutes until it thickens up.
5. Turn the oven up to 400°F. Remove the foil and generously brush the ham with the orange glaze. Return it to the oven uncovered for 20 minutes. Repeat this 3-4 times, glazing every 20 minutes, until the outside is deeply caramelized, sticky and the ham is tender enough to easily pull apart.
Instead of slicing your Thanksgiving ham, pull it into big, juicy pieces and spoon some of that extra glaze and pan juices over top.
