There is so much more behind a “simple” kitchen than what you see in the finished photos.
Every detail in this space was carefully considered, from determining exactly how the full-height porcelain backsplash would slide into place, to calculating the depth of the open shelving around what would actually be stored and used there.
The stone was a project in itself. I worked closely with the fabricator on slab placement, veining, angles and mitred edges so that the pattern flowed intentionally throughout the kitchen. Even the island legs were wrapped in stone, an upgraded detail that adds another layer of luxury while protecting the painted MDF from little feet kicking and scratching it.
The white oak cabinetry required the same attention. Finding the right shade and custom stain was an upgrade, but it brought the warmth and softness needed to balance the dramatic stone and dark cabinetry.
Storage was planned around how the family lives. Materials were selected not simply because they were beautiful, but because of how they would work together and perform over time.
The finished kitchen may look effortless and simple.
That’s the point.
Luxury is often found in the details you don’t immediately notice — the measurements, problem-solving, craftsmanship and hundreds of decisions that make the finished space feel just right.
