A peek into the powder room of our Beaches project. This was the one room that got more than a cosmetic upgrade.

This main floor bathroom had a shower that wasn’t being used, so we gave most of that space back to the office which shares a wall.

We retained just enough space from the shower cavity to add in custom storage…that matches the vanity of course. We repeated the rich warm wood tones here; the common thread between all the spaces of this family home.

Colour…the most effective unifying element of design.

Not sure what my favourite feature is here, the millwork or the floors ✨

Creating unity through consistency was the approach here. Parging allowed us to eliminate both the popcorn wall texture, and the texture of the brick.

The other major element was the ceiling. By staining it the deeper, richer colour of the floors, we achieved more cohesion in this space.

Final touches were the window treatments and light fixtures. And while furnishings weren’t in scope for this project, we think it all came together beautifully.

This view of our Beaches project provides a glimpse of the addition at the back of our clients’ house that was added many years ago.
The challenge was to make these two spaces, given their distinct architectural differences, speak to each other without undergoing major construction.
There were many textures and materials competing for attention in the family room. In the before photo, you can see the popcorn-like walls, dark red brick on the fireplace, and sloped wood ceiling. And that wood continued around door and window openings and in some areas, along the top of the wall. It was a lot.
So we simplified. The textures, the materials and the colours, to create more cohesion between the spaces. They are still unique, but now they are speaking the same language.

For clients who like cool colours and appreciate a bit of whimsy and playfulness, we took this room from bland to show-stopper.

Take a look at the before to see where we started from.

The paint and wallpaper create the immediate impact, but the smaller details help create unity and enhance the overall look and feel. We added new lighting, cabinet hardware in a similar warm tone, and the Roman window shade adds some welcome texture and softness to the space.

A perfect place to host all the gatherings. And just in time for Thanksgiving. 🍂

All the angles. This shot captures the new closet doors we added that really elevate the room. Same hardware, but a different door style, different finish and painted darker than the walls makes them stand out just the right amount.

Bedroom goals. This one is a showstopper if we do say so ourselves. Rich colours, layered lighting, a high-pile wool rug, and automated blackout drapery are some the key moves that add a touch of luxury, to be enjoyed everyday.

A fresh update for the kitchen ✨

The solid maple cabinetry was in great shape, and we wanted to enhance it and make the kitchen look more unified and feel more intentional.

Quartzite that brought in warmer tones replaced the old counters and continued up the backsplash for a seamless look. An integrated hood vent clad in micro cement replaced the dated one, and then we added a new sink, faucet, pendant lighting and hardware to make this feel like a brand new custom kitchen.

In love with how these thoughtful additions really enhanced the hub of this home.
