Gaylord Hardwood Flooring

Main character energy. 🤎

Natural Hickory isn't here to blend in. With incredible grain movement and colour variation ranging from light, creamy tones to rich, darker browns, this hardwood brings all the character. A little rustic, a little unexpected, and a whole lot of personality.

Why we love it? It pairs beautifully with earthy tones, natural textures, and other wood elements, making it a standout choice for anyone looking for something a little different. Not only does it look good, it is off the charts in durability. Busy homes meet

A little glimpse into where it all began. 🤍

Old newspaper clippings, family photos, handwritten notes from our founder, Lewis Ga***rd, and pieces of a story that started with a dream, a lot of hard work, and a family determined to build something of their own.

What began in 1985 has grown and changed in more ways than anyone could have imagined, but at the heart of Ga***rd Hardwood Flooring, so much has stayed the same.

Family. Hard work. Craftsmanship. And the belief that if you’re going to build something, build it to last. More than 40+ years later, we’re pretty proud of where that dream has taken us — and even prouder of where it all began. 🤍

Hardwood flooring and Godzilla—two of Eddie’s favourite things! 🪵🦖😂

On Episode 8 of Ophelia’s Cut Friday, Eddie takes us through a Godzilla drawing lesson. His acting and creativity combined with Ophelia’s editing skills? Pure magic. 🎬✨

Should Eddie and Godzilla make another appearance? 👀

Kids. Dogs. Muddy paws. Crumbs everywhere. Hardwood floors can handle real life. 🐾🤍

The trick? Choosing the right floor for the chaos that comes with it.

Wire-brushed texture + low sheen = your friend.
Knots & character = even better.
Light-to-medium tones = much more forgiving of dirt, dust, scratches and those tiny paw prints that somehow cover the entire house.

Even the wood species you choose can make a difference.

You tell us who lives in your house (and how much trouble they cause 😏) and we’ll help you choose a hardwood floor that works with your lifestyle — not one you’re afraid to actually live on.

When a standard colour isn’t quite perfect enough for the space, we create one. 🤍

For this beautiful Bridgehamptons home, we worked with the builder to create a custom stain specifically for the project.

Installed throughout is our 9” Engineered White Oak in Prime Grade. Clean and refined with no knots or heavy character, allowing the natural colour variation and beautiful graining of the White Oak to shine.

The extra-wide planks create an expansive feel, while the soft custom colour gives the entire home a subtle, timeless foundation for everything layered on top.

Sometimes the perfect floor doesn’t exist yet. We can help you create it. 😏

A waterfront property feature 🌊

This home features our Live Sawn White Oak in our Natural 1850 stain, in a mix of 6”, 8” & 10” solid planks. We love how much character the mixed widths bring to this space. This stain keeps the floor light and natural while highlighting the grain, knots and beautiful variation.

Live Sawn White Oak is also a great choice for waterfront homes and cottages, where humidity levels can change throughout the seasons. The specialty cut offers added stability while still giving you that gorgeous wide plank look.
