I think this is one of my favourite flips to date. Something about a dark chocolatey brown creates such an organic and natural look. A piece that will fit in perfectly with the modern heritage style trends we see all over social media.
Also, can we take a moment for the hardware and drawer liner— they were meant to be together!!

My favourite kinds of projects are the ones that are completely reimagined. Transforming a piece from old, out-dated and chunky to something timeless is always the most fun!

The original doors were not the vibe and weighed about 20 pounds each so the moulding had to go. Once that was gone, I used my dad’s CNC machine to cut out the centre of the doors and add an edge on the inside so I could add some glass. My initial plan was to install actual reeded glass, but oof that’s pricey so I opted to have regular glass cut to size and applied reeded film instead. The right side of the piece had a drawer which I removed and put in a shelf to keep it looking seamless all the way across. Behind the centre doors were mirrors (which was also not the vibe), so after smashing and removing all of that (it’s not 7 years of bad luck if you intentionally smash a mirror, is it? 😅), everything got sanded, patched, several coats of paint and a new shelf.

As I always love to do on sideboards, a new custom base with tapered legs was added.

Oooooooo I just love a good MCM restoration!!

This one was actually in decent condition given its age— not too much damage to the veneer which is always a huge plus! A big chunk was missing from the front, but the previous owner kept the piece that had come off so that was a huge win and made repairing it that much easier!

The orangey-red colour was not the vibe— I’m all about the dark brown/black stain these days so I layered two different colours to get to this deep, rich looking shade.

The customer who purchased this piece also had a tallboy they wanted to colour match and it turned out stunninggggg (I will share photos at some point)!

As of late, I’ve done a lotttttt more stripping and restoring rather than painting. It requires SOOOOOOO much more time and effort, but the results are always so worth it! I will definitely share more of the pieces that I restored last year, but for now I’m just trying to catch up on this years projects 😅

A little behind on posting what I’ve been up to in the shop… oops!

Finished up this little cutie a couple of weeks ago! I just love her so much 😍

Chopped off the old base and built this new scalloped one! Refinished in a soft, warm white — a super versatile colour that fits into almost any space. Added a pop of colour in the drawers!

Perseverance— that is what I’m naming this set 😅

These nightstands truly tested me. The idea came easy, the ex*****on, not so much. A lot of trial and error to finally get them in their current state— bold, elegant, and unique.

My initially plan (which was a flop) was to paint the shagreen on. After stripping the previous paint job and removing the existing trim to create a more modern profile, I created a stencil using my cricut and spent hooooooours (days even) stencilling and painting a million tiny dots; only to end up hating it.

And so, we pivoted. I still wanted to incorporate the shagreen into the set and so I thought, why not do an embossed version? And voila! Many, many hours spackling and here we are! I’m obsessed 🤩

Now tell me— do we like the embossed shagreen or the painted shagreen better? (scroll through to see the before and the painted version).

Tossed the old, ugly hardware and added sleek, matte black pulls (I could not decide between black or vintage brass for this set, but that can always be changed).

Phew! It’s been a hot minute since I posted on here!!

I decided at the beginning of 2025 that I wanted to take the stress of social media out of the equation and focus all of my energy into creating. I didn’t post much to begin with before, but removing this pressure allowed me to really produce and reach goals I had set for myself.

Last year, I refinished/restored more pieces (both custom and not) than I ever have before (even while planning my wedding and getting married). It was a huge accomplishment and I’m so proud of myself for pushing through and persevering during both an exciting and stressful time!

So now, I’m excited to get back in the shop and continue building this business I’m so passionate about. I love painting and restoring furniture and I’m so grateful that I get to let my creativity fly every day!

Here is a small look into what I worked on last year… lots of painted furniture, but I also did a lot more restoration pieces than ever before. I also played around with more custom bases, wooden beads, faux linen looks, stripes, paint washes and more!

Thank you to all of my customers who supported me last year, I wouldn’t be here without you! ❤️
