POV: backyard shopping turned into a Western movie🎬🤠

We went on a little patio mission through and , looking for outdoor furniture, pillows, accessories, and all the cute little details that make a backyard feel ready for summer.

From a full conversation set to trendy pillows and plastic patio glasses, this was basically a backyard roundup.
Now we just need to bring it all together for the final patio setup.

From blank white walls to a warm contemporary retreat overlooking the ocean.

This project was designed to feel soft, elevated, and deeply connected to its surroundings through natural textures, layered lighting, custom millwork, and intentional styling.

Every detail was considered - from the fireplace feature and integrated shelving to the wood slat dining wall and calming bedroom palette.

The goal was never to overwhelm the space.
It was to create a home that feels effortless, refined, and lived in from day one.

The before & after says it all. ✨

Designers + architects - I’d love for you to join me on May 7 for HAVAN’s 2026 Designers Crawl.

This year’s theme is Exteriors: From Source to Surface - and it’s such a good one.

We’ll be stepping inside Solus Décor and Bedrock Natural Stone for a behind-the-scenes look at how materials move from raw resource to finished product. It’s a chance to get out of the office, into the process, and closer to the craftsmanship behind the work we specify every day.

Expect private tours, real access, great conversations, food, beverages, swag, and bus transportation between stops.

I always think these kinds of experiences are where so much inspiration comes from - not just seeing the finished product, but understanding how it’s made, what’s possible, and how it can shape the way we design.

The power of staging is in the details and in the feeling a space creates the moment someone walks in.

This East Vancouver live/work loft sold in just 2 weeks, and it is such a great example of how thoughtful presentation can shape the way a property is seen and remembered.

With staging the goal is always to create balance - showcasing function without losing warmth, character, or style. When a space is staged with intention, it helps people connect not only with how it looks, but with how it could truly live.
