As I walked through the chaos of what is know as the laundry hallway in my own home I can take solace in knowing my clients at least have laundry bliss in their homes! The room of doom deserves some well design space to store laundry hampers, tuck away soap supplies, folding space , broom storage and a sink of beauty.

The fireplace mantle and surround has got to be one of the most personally interesting and client reflective pieces in the each home build or renovation that Iā€™m involved in. With days getting shorter and more hours spent in front of the cosy heat source it is a design feature to take note of.
Torn apart over my fav here - many adaptations using existing materials - reclaimed local brick- recladding existing mantles, rebuilt to look historic, sleek & monolithic and some just made new again with a fresh stained wood mantle šŸ¤Ž

My absolute favourite kitchen style is the disassembled style of a historic kitchen that repurposes existing elements .
This includes a collection of hand crafted furniture pieces gathered to create a high functioning space that includes work tables, larders , open shelving , using natural materials and painted wood.
In this home renovation our design bridged the new construction with historic architecture and antique furniture to create a sustainable interior. The contemporary appliances are tucked away behind cabinet panels while the La cornue stove is notched into the nickel capped wood island. We sourced authentic hardware and repurposed plumbing fixtures to compete the look.
I feel a shift towards a more relaxed pre-tech style of living possibly to balance out the high level tech advancements all around us.

The concept follows through to the details of carefully selected draperies, custom designed dining tables and fully sized ottomans to work as seating that works throughout the entertaining rooms of your home.
Working with local craftspeople we were able to bring this vision to life through these elegant functional pieces.
