After almost two years of waiting, our building on West Hastings has sold. The sale was completed earlier this month and we signed a one year lease with the new owner.

Dressew will be closing on Saturday May 1st, 2027.

What happens after that is still to be determined by factors not in our control. We remain hopeful that Dressew will find a new home in one way or another.

Since our closure is still a year away, we do not currently have plans to start a closing sale. We will still be restocking fabric and notions for the time being.

If you have any gift cards please spend them!

In case you missed it, BC has deemed sewing and knitting not “essential” and is removing the PST exemption on fabric and yarn used for making and repairing clothing on October 1st, 2026. BC was the only province to have this progressive exemption. Feels like we should be encouraging mending and making your own clothes instead of the opposite. 🤷🏻‍♂️
