Design Fest Vancouver, you were busy. So were we. 👀

At PechaKucha Vancouver, giving the design brain something to chew on besides floor plans, shop drawings and stone samples. Unsurprisingly, looking outside your own industry is great for the imagination.

We saw it before you did. Sorry (not sorry). First people outside the factory to preview Lambert & Fils Studio’ upcoming collection, and let’s just say… you’re going to want to sit down when this drops.

Inform always has the best presentations and Studio Roslyn + &Daughters certainly did not disappoint. The amount of talent oozing from these woman is beautiful to witness.

Oh hey, Vanja Cullen…client turned friend, fellow Bocci obsessive, and the owner of a project we desperately need to photograph. It’s been sitting there looking ridiculously good, and frankly, it’s time the rest of you got to see it.

Back at Bocci’s studio, where the lighting is exceptional, the people are lovely, and our ability to leave without a new favourite piece remains questionable. Always a good time.

Kitchen inspiration with the bulthaup Vancouver ladies, but vibey.

Sounds courtesy by the one and only Pablo Zamudio.

A brief intermission from design week to appreciate a different kind of craftsmanship. Namely, pasta. Ask for Luigi 🍝

A harbour cruise hosted by the one and only CF Interiors. We ended up having to help a trade on site last minute, so had to jet before they set sail, but I heard it was a killer party.

Opening party at Interior Design Show Vancouver. Christopher always being the kinda hype man we all need and love - sound on for reference.

Bread and butter at Lock and Mortice. Good design, good people, and plenty to chew on.

Out here breaking s**t at Interior Design Show Vancouver. 😬( I promise it clicked back together nicely)

Any event invite that includes Botanist Dining is pretty much a guaranteed yes from us. The food, the drinks, the service… consistently top notch. Add beautiful stone into the mix, and suddenly you’ve got our attention.

Oh, did I mention I spoke on the Western Living Magazine panel at Interior Design Show Vancouver? 😉

Good objects by OBJ:OBJ, good company, excellent excuse to linger.

Homies at McKinley Studios. We foundMcKinley Studios

A little IDS recap. A lot of familiar faces. And plenty of new things to snoop around. 👀

One of my favourite parts of Interior Design Show Vancouver is catching up with old friends, bumping into colleagues and seeing what everyone’s been working on. There’s always something new to discover, and it’s even better when you get to see the people behind it.

This year, I was also lucky enough to be part of the show, joining Western Living Magazine on the main stage for Beyond Four Walls. A pretty special moment, alongside a few days of good conversations, new inspiration and plenty of walking the floor.

From new collections and clever materials to seeing the work our friends and industry colleagues have been bringing to life, there was a lot to take in. And, naturally, a few things I’m already thinking about for future projects.
Good design is one thing. Seeing the people, ideas and hard work behind it is even better.

A little look at what caught my eye, who I caught up with and what made this year’s IDS so memorable. 🥂

Proof that a bathroom doesn’t need to scream to have a personality.

One blue faucet. One blue P-trap. One blue soap dispenser. A little greenery for good measure.

That’s it.

The rest stays quiet, which gives those details room to do their thing without turning the bathroom into a colour experiment gone rogue.

This is the part of design we really like: knowing where to spend the attention.

You don’t need to make everything custom. You don’t need to use every good idea. And you definitely don’t need to blow the budget to make a space feel considered.

Sometimes it’s about making a few smart decisions that do a lot of work.

That’s the job. We just make it look like it was easy.

This one feels especially personal.

I’ve had the privilege of seeing our projects published before, but this is the first time someone has written a profile about me—not only about the spaces I design, but about where I came from, how Schédio began, and the experiences that shaped both my work and the person I’ve become.

There’s something unexpectedly emotional about reading your own story through someone else’s eyes. This piece draws a line between my upbringing and the way I work today: the sculptural ideas, the technical problem-solving, and the fearlessness it has taken to hold onto a bold vision and build a practice around it.

It is generous, thoughtful and beautifully written. More than anything, it made me feel genuinely seen.

Having space devoted to the story behind Schédio, and not only the finished work, is an incredibly special opportunity—one I don’t take lightly.

Thank you to Western Living for taking the time to understand both me and the work so deeply. I’ll be holding onto this one for a very long time. 🤍

It feels wild to me that fall has officially arrived. (July feels like last week)

Spending more time indoors, often means noticing the things we’ve successfully ignored all summer.

The chair that’s always in the way. The room that somehow never works. The storage situation we’ve been pretending is “fine.”

Sometimes the fix is simple. Move a few things around. Add some colour. Change the lighting. Give the room a reason to exist beyond holding furniture.

And sometimes… the layout is just bad.

That’s where we come in.

We look at how you actually live, what’s working, what’s wasting space and where a smarter design could make a bigger difference than buying another basket from the internet.

You don’t always need more stuff...you just need your space to work harder.

Still thinking about my conversation at IDS Vancouver.

I joined two other designers to talk about what makes a space feel like home, how we get to know the people we’re designing for, and the decisions that shape a project long before we choose a finish. We each approach the work differently, which made the conversation so much more interesting. I loved hearing where our perspectives met—and where they didn’t.

Thank you to Interior Design Show Vancouver for inviting me, to Stacey from Western Living Magazine for guiding the conversation, and to my fellow panelists for making it such a good one. And thank you to everyone who came out and spent part of their Saturday with us. 🤍

Storage doesn’t have to take over the room.

Here, we tucked a full wall of storage and the fireplace into one seamless feature, giving the bedroom plenty of function while keeping the overall feel calm and uncluttered.

Good bedroom design is about making room for what you need without letting it become the first thing you see. The storage is there when you need it, the fireplace gets to be part of the architecture, and the room can still feel like a place to actually switch off.

This is the the balance we’re always chasing: enough function to make everyday life easier, with enough restraint that the room still feels calm, beautiful, and like somewhere you actually want to wake up in.

If your bedroom is calling for a cozy refresh this season, you know where to find us.

We’re big believers in making the functional stuff fun ✨

For MINK LASH BOUTIQUE, we wanted to create a dreamy, immersive space, right down to the bathroom.

The sink is one with the floor, emerging from the the same material giving it an almost melting feeling that makes what could have been a purely functional element feel integrated with the architecture.

The faucet also follows this unconventional perspective, but in this case, it descends from the ceiling. Two little spheres turn the water on and off and control temperature. It may seem like a small detail, but its the little decisions that bring the bigger vision to life.
