Some objects were never meant to be décor. They just lived long enough to become it.

These vintage teak risers were carved by hand from a single piece of solid wood in the mid-1900s. Used daily in traditional Indian kitchens. Worn, marked, and entirely one of a kind.

No two are alike. Every piece is sourced by hand, held, considered, and chosen because it has a story worth continuing.

It has always amazed us how things were once made. They were an investment of heart and soul, built to last and made raw then finished. Its a story of how necessities of life in a hard and scarce ecosystem of Nagaland forests nurtured an art that transcends explanation. It still gets me amazed how these vessels were carved by hand from a single tree. No wonder why they are so rare and precious.

The sweet art of doing nothing.

A slow afternoon on the grass. Aged wood beneath cold wine. Flowers that were not arranged — just placed. Linen that was not styled — just laid.
