We love the kind of relationships that evolve through repeat collaboration - where trust, shorthand, and shared design language continue to grow over time.

Michael () and the team at Minimal Cucine () have been an important part of several SHIFT projects, and McKinley is another extension of that ongoing partnership.

Working together across kitchens and millwork systems has always been rooted in the same approach: restraint, precision, and a focus on how the space will actually be lived in.

That consistency shows up most clearly in McKinley’s kitchen - a space defined by quiet detailing, seamless integration, and a strong material clarity that aligns with the overall language of the home.

We’re excited to share more of this project soon, following its upcoming publication feature, where the full home will be revealed in detail.

At SHIFT, every detail begins with intention.

We design with a focus on how a space will actually be lived in - how it supports daily routines, creates ease, and brings a sense of calm to complex environments. Nothing is arbitrary. From millwork to material selection to lighting composition, each decision is made to serve both function and feeling.

It’s in the details - the alignment of joinery, the layering of texture, the way light moves through a room - that design becomes personal. This is where intention is most visible, even if subtly so.

Seascape, a renovation at Charleson Tower, reflects this approach.

Designed for a cosmopolitan couple in the heart of the city, the project balances structure and softness, drawing from its urban context while creating a sense of calm elevation above it.

Patterned stone, polished metal, and warm natural tones come together to shape a home that feels grounded, intimate, and quietly refined.

The Point | Completed Residence

A closer look at a completed residence we’ve had the privilege of being part of, a renovation, furniture, and decor project shaped for a young family with two children and three dogs.

This home was designed around how daily life actually unfolds, balancing durability, comfort, and warmth with a calm, cohesive material and spatial language. Every layer was considered with intention, from layout through to furnishings and final styling.

What makes this project especially meaningful is the collaboration behind it. This was a true team effort across architecture, interior design, construction, styling, and craft - each partner contributing to the final outcome in a very real way.

We’re incredibly grateful to have worked alongside such a thoughtful group of collaborators, and to have been part of a project that reflects such alignment in vision and ex*****on.

We’re looking forward to sharing more from the final professional imagery soon, along with a deeper look into the completed spaces.

Client Reflection

The most meaningful part of what we do is the trust our clients place in us - especially when a project feels overwhelming or uncertain at the beginning.

We’re incredibly grateful for feedback like this, and for the opportunity to support our clients through such a significant part of their journey. It’s a reminder that good design is not just about outcomes, but about the experience along the way.

Clarity is not an aesthetic choice - it’s a design principle.

It comes from understanding what a space truly needs, and removing what it doesn’t.

At SHIFT, this process is how we reduce complexity and create environments that feel calm, functional, and grounded.

Because when unnecessary noise is removed, life becomes easier to live within the space.

A shift in direction.

our SOUTHLANDS project marks a moment where our work begins to stretch in a new way.

Rooted in a more classical language - ornament, proportion, detail - this project draws from a Parisian sensibility, reinterpreted through a quieter, more minimal lens.

There’s a balance we’ve been exploring between structure and restraint, where traditional elements like mouldings and symmetry are simplified to feel more intentional, less decorative.

It’s not a departure from how we design, but an expansion of it. A deeper look at how different design languages can still support the same goal: spaces that feel grounded, cohesive, and aligned with how our clients live.

We can't wait to share more from behind the scenes as this project evolves - offering a closer look at the thinking, the process, and the decisions shaping what’s to come.

At SHIFT, every project begins with trust.

Our clients are inviting us into something deeply personal; how they live, how they move through their day, what home feels like to them. We don’t take that lightly.

The investment they’re making isn’t just financial, it’s lived, and it carries through every decision that follows.

So we approach each project with that same level of responsibility, because the goal is never just to create something beautiful, it’s to create a space that truly supports the life that reside within that home.

W 22nd | Dunbar Net-Zero Duplex

W 22nd is a project shaped through close collaboration between architect, interior designer, builder, and development team, all working toward a shared vision of performance-led, thoughtful living.

Architectural design by , in collaboration with interior design by , this home was developed with a focus on clarity, restraint, and long-term livability. Every decision was made with intention, from massing and spatial flow through to material continuity and interior detailing.

At its core, the home balances high-performance net-zero construction with a calm, contemporary architectural language. Light, proportion, and connection to the outdoors were carefully considered to create spaces that feel open, grounded, and quietly refined.

This is a home designed not just for efficiency, but for everyday experience - where sustainability is fully integrated into how the architecture is lived and felt.

We’re grateful to work alongside a team of dedicated collaborators whose expertise shaped every layer of this project from concept through to completion.
