Urgent foster needed in the Okanagan.

🚨 URGENT: Foster or Foster-to-Adopt Needed for Sophie 🚨

Sophie is a lovable 2-3 year old Bulldog mix who desperately needs a foster or foster-to-adopt home.

She must be the only pet in the home and would do best with adults or older, dog-savvy teens. Sophie is low energy, crate trained, affectionate, and happiest when she's curled up beside her person getting belly rubs.

Sophie is currently working on her leash skills with a trainer, and that support will continue to help set her up for success.

Because she can't live with other dogs, finding the right home has been difficult. We know her perfect match is out there, but she needs your help to find them.

Finally finished my I ❤️ dad quilt. Took longer than planned (5 weeks) but I'm happy with the result. I gave it a nice fuzzy, cuddletex backing so some lucky dad will be comfy, cozy snuggling with their fur baby (ies). May be too late to be raffled off for Father's Day this year but the thing about rescue is ... the need for fundraising never goes away.
I won't be making anymore rescue quilts unless asked. They are expensive, take a long time and my smaller rescue groups don't have the means to raffle them. Because of the cost and labour involved I won't let them go for auctions as they don't generate enough money.
For now I'll give my neglected house and gardens some much needed attention and will work on some smaller purses, aprons etc for fundraising.

Away from the studio today.... to organize the spring food drive in our Desert Cove community supporting All Are Family Outreach Society . Really pleased with the donations and the terrific neighbours and volunteers who stepped up to help families and seniors struggling to get by in our area.

This is what happily ever after looks like for rescue dogs. Ziggy, Athena (deaf) and cousin Frankie (deaf) snoozing under my cutting table after playtime in the yard .... what all dogs deserve.

Our heartfelt thanks to all those involved in rescue.

Today is National Rescue Dog Day – a day that honours the many pups in shelters and in foster care and encourages people to consider adoption.

The 24 adorable faces in front of you are exactly why we do what we do…and it’s the faces of past fosters, alum and those in our future that keep us going. For everyone who has committed their time, energy and resources to finding a forever home for deserving dogs – THANK YOU!

In typical May long weekend fashion, the weather is awful and it's even snowing in the mountain passes......perfect for guilt free sewing, ignoring the garden and making homemade pizza..... sure glad we're not camping and feel bad for anyone who is. Cheers!

Progress report ... I've finished the quilt top and will take the opportunity on this very much needed rainy day to head to the quilt store and pick up some batting and backing fabric. Thinking a grey flannel might make for a cozy daddy and doggy snuggle quilt.
