New at GR: The Lucia Eames collection by Nanimarquina brings the work of American artist Lucia Eames into a new, tactile form.
The only child of Charles Eames and stepdaughter of Ray Eames, Lucia developed a creative language of her own, deeply connected to nature and expressed through joyful, symbolic forms.
Drawing from seven of Lucia’s original works, Nanimarquina translates her expressive forms through a thoughtful mix of natural materials and artisanal techniques. Hand-spun Afghan wool, hand-braided jute, and New Zealand wool are shaped through hand-knotting, stitching, tufting, weaving, and embroidery. The collection also introduces new techniques developed specifically for these designs, including sculptural tufting with varying pile heights.
The result is a collection that brings Lucia’s work into the world of interiors with depth, texture, and a distinctly tactile quality.
