This collection is no longer for sale.
We’re very excited to offer up for sale this amazing collection of a truly one-of-a-kind group from a true legend in the Canadian military!
General Gérard Charles Édouard Thériault, CMM, CD (June 5, 1932 in Gaspé, Quebec, Canada – October 13, 1998 in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada) was Chief of the Defence Staff between 1983 and 1986. Thériault joined the RCAF in 1951, received his wings in 1952 and was one of the early members of the ”Mach Club” having broken the sound barrier.
In addition, Thériault was also one of the first members of the RCAF’s “Sky Lancers” the predecessor of the Golden Hawks and today’s Snowbirds. The aerobatics team formed in 1955 and disbanded after only a year after a fatal crash and the Golden Hawks were formed in 1958.
There is simply far too much to show here! In addition to the Mess Dress uniform and medals, there is an extensive scrapbook that was kept of certificates, awards and original photos and newspaper articles.
If you want any further information, email Brent directly at: [email protected]. He will take additional photos and answer any questions you may have.
We are asking $12,000 Canadian for this unique and historic collection. To save the shipping costs, we will be attending the Historical Arms Collectors Show, March 16 & 17.
