New tutorial is up! 🍁

One sheet of cardstock, three jobs: a card, a treat pocket for a drink mix and a cookie, and a gift card pocket inside. I made a Halloween one for the kiddos and a fall one for the girlfriends.

Fair warning: the folding is a little backwards. Watch the video once through, then come back and make it. You've got this. And a slightly wonky edge won't spoil anything. There are treats in there!

Before you redesign the whole card, try changing three things.

The leaves. The sentiment. The direction your card opens.

That’s the idea behind this week’s three Elegant Leaves cards. Keep the coordinating foundation, then let a few changes do the work. No need to audition your entire craft room again. 😉

On this best-wishes version, Daffodil Delight and Calypso Coral bring the warmth, while Peaceful Pine ties the leaves back to the green background. Turn the card upright and those leaves have room to wander down the front.

Five colours on one card… and somehow they’re all behaving. 😉

Here’s what helps: give each colour a small, repeated job.

Golden Glow, Calypso Coral, Peaceful Pine, Daffodil Delight and Petal Pink each get one little leaf on this Elegant Leaves get-well card.

The shapes repeat, the leaves sit in a simple row, and the white panel keeps them easy to see against the gingham. Plenty of colour, with a little structure to hold it together.

If a five-colour palette feels like a lot, try it in small die-cut pieces first. You don’t need five competing layers to enjoy all five colours.

Save this one for the next time you want to send a little cheer through the mail. 💛

Who says fall cards have to be brown? 🍁

Daffodil Delight, Calypso Coral and Petal Pink bring a brighter side of autumn to this Elegant Leaves birthday card—and that soft pink absolutely belongs here.

The yellow and coral bring the energy. Petal Pink softens the mix, while the white textured panel gives those detailed leaves somewhere to shine.

Try this when you’re choosing colours: pick two cheerful favourites, then add a softer shade instead of another bold one. You still get colour without everything shouting for attention.

Save this combination for your next birthday card. Would you have thought to put Petal Pink in a fall palette?
