Spaces designed with restraint tend to age the best.

Although our studio aesthetic has greatly evolved since completing this project, “designed for permanence” remains the standard behind every XY space.

Watching a concept move from drawing to rendering to physical space never gets old.

The visible, obvious details, only succeed because of the quieter, less obvious decisions behind them.
We design for both.

The goal was never impact. It was calm.

Material study for a primary ensuite designed through softness, proportion, and tonal restraint.

Designed to feel quieter than luxury usually does.

Architecture integrity first, decoration second;
The quiet luxury of monolithic forms.

When the materials and objects are this intentional, you don’t need to add anything else. Designing for longevity means prioritizing structural success over fleeting trends.

This kitchen will be loved for decades to come: ask XY how we design to protect your investment.

Control is established long before a space is complete.
It’s felt, it’s hardly seen.
In Proportions. In Alignments. In Material Continuity.

The result is hours and hours of studies that feel entirely effortless.

A Commercial project, executed in office and on site over 12 months.

Reduction is a discipline, not a style.

Tight alignments. Exacting proportions. Controlled palettes. These aren’t design “details.”
These are XY standards.

A space with incredible architectural integrity needs no fluff.

So much of our work lives behind closed doors…

As designers, when you can’t photograph the final result, these high-fidelity renderings become the only record of the vision.

This was our second property at the Ritz Carlton Bal Harbour. That image, is about 5 years old. (!)
Looking back, it’s interesting to see how well this design has dated. And a perfect example of why we don’t design for trends. We design for permanence.

The Precision of Beauty;

Design is often measured by the finish, but it is engineered in the details.
This custom unit is a small example of a fully custom home we designed that requires precise coordination between a multitude of professionals, materials and trades.
Technical discipline is the invisible foundation of the XY aesthetic.

How do you design for the best tailors in the city?

How do you create a space that allows them to better the talent they do?

By meeting them at their level.

At a time when fashion is questioning the value of craftsmanship, working with true tailors is a reminder of what it actually looks like.

Precision. Discipline. Intention.

It’s a mindset we share in interior design. Every detail is studied. Designed. Cautiously executed. Never assumed.

The Cloakroom Montreal becomes an extension of that exact philosophy;
Because at XY, craftsmanship isn’t a ‘statement,’
it’s a standard.
