The Red Theory… aka the Unexpected Red Theory 🔴

It’s one of the biggest design conversations on social media lately.

The idea? Adding just a small touch of red to a room can make it feel warmer, richer, and more visually balanced.

Would I design an entire home around the Red Theory? Unless it suits my client specially … probably not. Personally speaking I gravitate to neutrals and earthy tones.

But I do think it’s a great reminder that sometimes it’s the smallest details … like a lamp, a book, a piece of artwork, or a vintage rug, that can have the biggest impact.

Design trends come and go, but understanding why something works will always be more valuable than simply following it.

What do you think... is the Red Theory genius, or just another TikTok trend?

I don’t think transom windows get nearly enough attention.

Originally used to bring light and air into a home before modern heating and cooling, today they’re one of those architectural details that instantly make a space feel more thoughtful and timeless.

They’re proof that sometimes the smallest details can have the biggest impact!

Whether it’s a century old farmhouse table or newly built piece inspired by one. It brings character to a space and a sense of ease.

If there was ever a house that felt like a warm hug, it’s Rosehill Cottage from the movie The Holiday.

This movie is a yearly staple for me.

Rosehill Cottage may not be real, but the feeling it creates certainly is.

Cosy, charming, imperfect, and full of character.

It’s the kind of home that reminds us why we fall in love with houses in the first place.
