“Carroll the three tier Yamaha Luxury Electric Organ”
24x36”
🐋 ☕️ 🎹

Built in Japan, sold as a luxury musical instrument commercially, then in the domestic market, Carroll has heard decades of “tea ☕️” .

Her first home, I imagine, was in a church, where the gossip must have been piping hot, spilling over, while the ladies sipped weak tea in Corelle tea cups.

Then into the home of her previous owner, where she lived front and centre in the living room for years. Carroll experienced countless holidays and family gatherings; generations coming together singing songs.
Then came the years of a standing slumber where all she could do was listen. And just when I’m sure she was giving up all hope, fearing she’d fade to dust, she found herself parked front and centre again. Like a phoenix, transforming into a dangerously vital object in a busy art room.
Once more, Carroll is the focus of attention, and will continue to inspire curiosity, interaction, and hold the gossip, and “piping hot tea” secrets of the teens who adore her. 🤎

Though “Carroll” was made specifically for my course, she IS available for rehoming. 🏠
She’s kinda a masterpiece

What have you been doing today? I’ve been plowing away on a very strange painting for my program. I’m doing an “object itinerary” of “Carroll”; an electric organ I picked up off market place for the art room. Caroll’s previous owner passed away. Carroll now delights the kids by being herself: old, large and makes strange sounds. How relatable is that?! 👵🏼 🐋 🎹
