This summer has been so chaotic with work and life, I found I had to remind myself to pause and enjoy small moments.

So when I found some monarch eggs on some milkweed I had pulled out of the garden (without thinking of checking for eggs first 🤦🏼‍♀️ ) I figured it was a great time for me to pause and enjoy small moments in nature.
We built them a house, Maeve made them a sign and we kept the eggs safe as we waited for caterpillars to hatch. We’ve had 15 caterpillars grow nice a big. Munching away on all the milkweed we fed them. We learned about their different stages and we’ve been able to watch them turn into these stunning butterflies. Each day we head out to the garden to check on them and watch them emerge. What a great reminder to pause, slow down and enjoy the small moments. We have a couple more waiting to emerge and fly away ♥️

I’ve been asked this question a few times recently

“Why flowers?”

“What’s the spiritual meaning behind flowers?”

“What’s the reason why you work with flowers?”

These questions have made me stop and think about it. There isn’t one big significant reason why I use flowers in my pieces. It’s simple. They make me happy.

The colours
The shapes
The sizes
The smells
The resilience of them growing in crazy places and weather
The pollinators that visit my garden because of them
The simple joy of having my coffee listening to birds first thing in the morning in my flower garden.

So ya, my reason is they just make me happy
