I was meaning to do this much sooner and not wait until last minute but sadly as you can tell that did not happen. Anyway, I’m giving away another couple spots for a workshop this week on Feb 10th happening at the forks.

I’ll have 2 winners this time

1st winner will receive a spot + friend for the afternoon workshop from 2 pm - 5:30 pm

2nd winner will receive a spot in the morning workshop from 10 am - 1:30 pm.

I’ll also have 2 walk up spots for each workshop.

Last minute Christmas gift idea

Soapstone Carving workshop
Gift the unique experience of carving your first soapstone sculpture for either yourself or a loved one. I have 2 dates and 2 time slots set up in the new year to cover any gifted.

Jan 27th & Feb 10
from 10 am - 1:30 pm
And 2 pm - 5:30 pm.

Feb 10th will also have a Valentines special with a twist on the stones that pair with your partners stone. More to come.

Just over two weeks ago I had quite an amazing couple days. I ran my phone over with a lawn mower so lost some great photos.

To start, I was invited to the for their Ingidenous Showcase. It was a lovely experience and we were all close together had us all feeling like family at the end. .rebel.armour
There was an estimated 12,000 students that came through and my favourite creation was a small garden gnome by a student.

Then I went to garage workshop put on by for her and her amazing group of friends. Forever humbled by kindness and honoured that I'm able to share joy.

Friday morning I spent doing a presentation on acceptance and creativity. Thanks to for the wonderful intro and for amazing photos and what I would consider my favourite photo of myself (open mouth laughing). I talked about my journey and all the things that have led me to this point in my life.

I believe in openness and vulnerability and how that allows for others to feel in the same space. I plan on always being a safe space for people to be their true authentic selfs. I love you all

Fathers day weekend

June 17th from 1 pm - 4:30 pm

Might be a great gift opportunity or making a gift. All are welcome and dont need to be a father either.

Final workshops at the studio

June 23rd from 6 pm - 9:30 pm
June 24th from 12 pm - 3:30 pm

These are the 2 final dates for the studio workshops at 618 Arlington street. I will miss it greatly but need a little downtime and focus on my art before organizing my first show.

I was invited out to my home community of Peguis First Nation to do a workshop with the Headstart Program. It was really nice to back in that capacity and felt warm and comfortable. Sharing my story and my art with people who I grow up knowing but haven't seen in a long time. It reminds me how much I miss home and making those visits more often. Im also told that my accent gets "ever" strong when I come home 😅

I did a workshop over a week ago and it was one of the best ones yet. There ended up being 3 youths at the workshop and all did amazing pieces. It reminded me to share that these workshops are open to younger ages as well. I do the workshops in schools but this gives the chance to do it with your child.

A big thank to APTN for coming in and do a couple of interviews. It was very sweet to hear the perspective of the workshop from a young person.

I have a couple workshops schedule for the mothers day weekend if you still looking for a great gift. Send your mom or come with her. You also don't have to be a mother to come and enjoy the workshop. I'm hoping to have my mother join for one of the days as well 😊

Last week was an incredible time! I had a workshop with and and journalists from around North America who came to experience what Manitoba had to offer. I shared my story and more importantly shared the art form I love. Then I had two cultural workshops for the IITC . Again, being able to openly share what soapstone carving has done for my mental health and jounrey. I also got to see my sister in work mode. Im very proud of her for everything she is doing. Then I capped off the evening on Thursday with the awards gala where I was able to reveal the beautiful pieces I had created for the award recipients. I didn't think this was going to be possible when I started soapstone carving but I'm incredibly honored and humbled by the feedback. I do these workshops so that other people can feel joy with what they create as much as I feel joy teaching them. I mean look at those smiles and faces full of happiness.

My favorite photo is #4 of course. We can never go wrong with candid ones.
