5 tiles that are timeless not trendy (you’ll want to save this one)

Star & Cross – rooted in European design history this pattern brings in interest while still feeling refined and architectural.

French Lay - Versailles tile or French Lay is a classic French flooring pattern made from mixed tile sizes arranged in a balanced, repeating layout. It feels timeless because its proportions come from traditional European design.

Tonal Checkerboard – same concept, less contrast and perfect if you want movement without committing to black + white.

Marble – fewer grout lines, more impact, clean, elevated and always relevant in kitchens + baths.

Cararra Mosaics – used for hundreds of years and have proven they stand the test of time.

Stella Studio & Co. is an interior design studio based in Manitoba, Canada🪴✨

We design for real life; your routines, your rituals, your “this is just how I live” moments and turn them into something a little more beautiful than they need to be. Think less “perfect showroom,” more “your life, but elevated in the best way.”

We focus on crafting beauty in the mundane…because honestly, the everyday deserves to feel a bit special too.

There’s something about European design that feels deeply intentional in a way we don’t always experience here in North America. The use of natural stone, time-worn textures, and the way society leans into smaller, more intimate spaces, rooms that feel cocooned rather than oversized creates a sense of calm that’s hard to ignore.

This has really been sitting in my heart lately and is becoming a strong current inspiration in my work.

And maybe most inspiring of all is the slower pace of life that seems to shape everything. Homes feel like they’re meant to be lived in, lingered in, and enjoyed over time, not rushed through. That philosophy alone changes the way space is designed. Even something as simple as coffee says it all how it’s so common in Europe to not have a coffee to go, because it’s meant to be enjoyed sitting down, with company, not rushed out the door.

It’s a reminder that good interiors don’t always come from more, they come from meaning, restraint, and rhythm.

Who needs to leave with a kitchen like this🤫

We were so excited to discover that Mr. Pierre Poilievre recently spent time in the podcast room we designed🤍

The space was intentionally created to house meaningful conversations. A space where ideas are shared, stories are told, and perspectives are exchanged. Every design decision was made with that purpose in mind, from the acoustics and lighting to the warmth and depth of the materials, all working together to make guests feel confident and comfortable.

It’s always special to see a space once it’s being used exactly as it was intended, supporting connection and conversation in such an authentic way.

Mr. Pierre Poullet I hope you enjoyed the space as much as we enjoyed designing it✨ Tag him below if you listened to the podcast!

Things I don’t compromise on in design✨

1. Lighting
Natural light + layered artificial lighting, it sets the entire mood of a space. No single overhead lights allowed.

2. Scale & Proportion
The right-sized furniture changes everything. A rug too small can ruin a whole room.

3. Quality Where It Counts
Floors, fixtures, hardware, invest here. These are the things you touch and see every single day.

4. Cohesion
Every room should feel like it belongs to the same home. No random collecting of styles and trends.

5. The Details
Trim, hardware, outlets, switches, the things people feel without knowing why. This is what separates good design from great design.
