Freshly thrown oil bottles. Next up are berry bowls!
I don't have a/c so it's easy to spend lots of time in the basement studio on hot days🥵.
Hope your weekend is treating you well!

Ok it's time for the every half decade peek at the person behind the scenes here. My scattered seeds booth neighbour was kind enough to snap some photos of me with both eyes open so I had to share😁

For those of you who I haven't yet met me- Hi! I'm Lynne. A real life human who loves animals and puttering in the kitchen and garden. I grew up in Winnipeg and have travelled a bit- the most memorable places for me are Stonehenge and the Atacama desert. I'm an introvert and apparently open spaces without lots of people are my favourite haha- although I did love Barcelona for the architecture.
I'm always looking for a new hobby so I dabble in misc things that I could probably share more of on here- like paper making and marbling, sketching, collage, more recently sewing and I've got a painting project that I want to start next week that I'm pretty pumped about because in my head it will be amazing.
I make everything you see on here by hand in my basement whilst streaming the same rotation of shows (currently Schitts creek). I teach and am a partner at the Stoneware Studio - classes for summer are avail now! I'm also a member at the Stoneware Gallery so you can find my work there always and me there sometimes.

Anyhow! There you have it! Until 2030 or so🌼

Ok so I swear I do make things other than mugs but right now I'm really happy making mugs and so my feed will continue to be mug-heavy for the next bit☕️
I promise berry bowls will happen soon- I'm playing with a new design that I need to fine tune!🍓🫐

I always create a new mug style in every big firing-
Here is the latest in the grate series (I've made tumblers before but no mugs in the series yet)
I like that it's a smaller cup and they really feel nice to hold without the handle as the angled "grate" portion at the bottom naturally fits you're pinky finger. Originally I'd envisioned this size as a teacup and there were supposed to be saucers to accompany them but I didn't have time for the saucers so they are just little mugs! They hold about 10oz and next time I'll make them in porcelain with saucers to see the full picture!
Anyhow- I like them! I also plan to make the slightly taller version that I've got in the sketchbook. Fun stuff!

This last firing was a weird one but there were lots of nice surprises. Two mugs ended up being standouts for me. Including this retro series mug in what I'm calling "cashmere brown" I'm not sure I'll ever get the exact same results but I will 100% try in my July firing! I can see this colour being AMAZING on my coffee cup or slash series.
The other fave mug from this firing I'll share tomo when I can get a good photo of it in sunlight!!
The website has most of the new mug offerings listed now🤍

The day after unloading is always a challenge! on one hand I'm excited to share all of the new things fresh from the kiln, and on the other I'm physically spent and the idea of sorting, photographing, and sanding 300 items is so unappealing.
Alas I've got most of what will be headed onto the website photographed and cannot wait to share some of my faves. It was a weird firing with some unexpected results that I won't likely be able to replicate again. All this to say the website will be updated tomorrow.🤍

Thinking about getting a custom set of plates or a complete dinner set?? Give me a shout! Summer, bring sandwiched between Mother's Day and Christmas is the best time for the quickest turnaround for custom requests!
Shown here is the spaceship series in speckled grey but I have loads of different styles to choose from🍽️

These sold out quickly at the market this weekend but I have to share because I love how they turned out- the finish has a very slight metallic look and feels satiny to the touch. I'll for sure be making more later this month!
This week i am loading the gas kiln with lots of stoneware (imagine all the speckled whites, speckled greens, and speckled rust). Then I'm going to do a couple of cone6 firings with the browns, greens and whites before getting ready for another gas firing with rusty greys and black in July!
As always- if there is anything you want to have made give me a shout!
