Behind every workshop is hours of preparation, inventory, and planning to ensure participants have everything they need to create something they’re proud to take home.

Workshop prep is in full swing for Northwest Angle #33.

Behind every workshop is a lot of planning, organizing, counting, packing, and making sure participants have everything they need to create something they’re proud of.

It’s not the glamorous side of the business, but it’s an important one.

Now excuse me while I continue sorting through my new/old inventory and possibly purchasing a bit more 😬🤣

Excited to officially share the updated Ma’iingan Designs Belt-Making Cultural Arts Program ✨

1 day beginner belt making is available, please contact for more info.

I never want participants to feel rushed through the process just to “finish fast.” I want people to have the time to learn the tools properly, ask questions, build confidence in the work, and leave proud of what they created.

The focus of these programs is on:
• design & layout
• painting & dye techniques
• carving & tooling
• leather finishing

Workshop options currently include:

✨ 2 Day Program
Introduction into painting & design with rivet/conchos

✨ 3 Day Intensive
Carving, tooling & painting immersive experience

All materials are provided and workshops are available for group bookings of 10+ participants.

Materials: $300/person
Facilitation: $700/day
Travel quoted separately when applicable.

Please note: bookings require a minimum of 3 weeks advance notice to allow adequate time for material preparation, supply ordering, and program coordination.

This belt was designed with different elements and meaning.
I’m in love with the roses and how the antique brought them out more.

One of the most detailed belts I’ve made so far. This is what I would teach in Ma’iingan designs Intensive belt making. Belts this detailed take days. I’m loving how she’s coming along in between sewing and work.
